A wonderful, wonderful listening experience

I really didn't want it to end. Although I have no background in physics beyond high school and one astronomy class, this book was infinitely readable, except that one chapter about quantum physics where I held on with my fingernails to understanding, but that just made me want it to read it again. Highly recommended!

Best novel I've read in years: intricate, inventive, erudite, epic, achingly eloquent. Seldom is a novel unpredictable for me, but I was awed again and again as the story unfolded. Even at the very end when I thought I knew with certainty what "the gift" was, I was surprised once again, and thrilled at what it turned out to be. I came across this book completely by accident, and I am thankful that I did.

And while both great teachers and immersion can definitely help improve your Spanish, it would take many years to ever become fluent that way! Instead, you need a self-training system that will allow you to learn Spanish daily and become fluent much faster.

Translate classic fairy tales into Spanish and study everything you get wrong.
This might be a good strategy with fiction or nonficton that doesn't use archaic language or have fantastical plots. I don't expect to be in a conversation about mythical she-wolves anytime ever. But if that sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'm pretty certain these stories are in the public domain and can be obtained for free with a Google search.

...kill your babies. If Tufo's editor had done that, there wouldn't be much of a story left. Excessive, cheesy humor abounds, so if you're into that, then you're in for a treat. If not, you'll be trying to figure out how to return an audiobook and get your credit back. I wanted to like it, and I listened through chapter 9 to feel like I'd given it a chance. Couldn't take it. Sorry, Mark. Nothing personal.
