Revisado: 09-15-24
I don't mean Bluelick, as in Melody, Though she's adorable. I just cannot with the narrator though. It is just about the worst narrator for an erotic romance. I'm not generally a fan of erotic books on narration anyhow, since I don't always listen where no one else can hear, added to that the narration for them is usually subpar at best. I think they scraped the bottom of the barrel with Lucy Rivers though. Private Practice was a different narrator, and while all male and female characters sounded the same, the narrator managed to put a rough masculine edge to their voice. Lucy Rivers barely attempted to deepen her voice, not near enough for a manly, or even attempted masculine tone. The narration for the first two books in the series aside, I have thoroughly enjoyed the stories, and characters from the first two books in the series, and will listen to the others, if only to save my eyes, and listen while I walk.

Big fan of Frankie
Revisado: 09-05-24
Hillary Hubber has done a phenomenal job with all the Frankie Elkin books she's narrated. As usual another winning series for Lisa Gardner, I just wish there were more. I really enjoyed Frankie’s character.

Frankie Elkin is like Flora Dane, without trauma
Revisado: 09-02-24
For those that love DD WARREN AND SAVIOR Flora Dane, you’ll like Frankie. She’s not without her weaknesses, but she doesn’t have the traumatic experience of Flora. Frankie is as strong, and fiercely independent as her Feisty, feline roommate, but not so cranky. Instead she is persistent and intelligent, narration was great. As with all Lisa Garner books, this is a must read!

Historia
A young woman is found strangled in the stairwell of a college library, only her sneakers missing. With no physical evidence, no signs of sexual assault, and no witnesses, all the police have to go on are the three men who were in the library with her: her boyfriend and two campus security guards...all of whom have secrets, none of whom can be proven guilty. Five years later, ex-FBI profiler Pierce Quincy and his wife, former police officer Rainie Conner, agree to consult on the still-unsolved case.

Decent enough, but narration is kind of boring. Not bad, just really bland.

The motive never occurred to me. VeryClever, leave it to Lisa Gardner! Not an exciting read, but no less clever than the typical Gardner books.

The best of the series!!!
Revisado: 08-15-24
This book puts all of the strong females of previous DD Warren books together, and the addition of a victim that cannot communicate in standard language, showcasing DD’s nurturing side. Flora is given the chance to not just survive, but to show what it means to thrive. Kristin Potter has been an excellent narrator for all the books in the series that she has narrated. She proves to be able to voice the strong kick-ass females like DD, Flora, and our favorite female FBI agent, Kimberly Quincy, as well as voicing the vulnerable young Hispanic girl. As with any book series where you’ve gotten to know and love the characters, the worst part is having to leave them. Thank you, Lisa Gardner for another tremendous unputdownable read!

A man is dead, shot three times in his home office. But his computer has been shot twelve times, and when the cops arrive, his pregnant wife is holding the gun. D. D. Warren arrives on the scene and recognizes the woman - Evie Carter - from a case many years back. Evie's father was killed in a shooting that was ruled an accident. But for D.D., two coincidental murders is too many. Flora Dane sees the murder of Conrad Carter on the TV news and immediately knows his face. She remembers a night when she was still a victim - a hostage - and her captor knew this man.

Historia
The last thing Boston Detective D. D. Warren remembers is walking the crime scene after dark. Then, a creaking floorboard, a low voice crooning in her ear… She is later told she managed to discharge her weapon three times. All she knows is that she is seriously injured, unable to move her left arm, unable to return to work. My sister is Shana Day, a notorious murderer who first killed at fourteen. Incarcerated for thirty years, she has now murdered more people while in prison than she did as a free woman.

In the beginning I was as sceptical as DD Warren, but I believe now. I do know how important pain is, but I meant I was sceptical about enjoying this book. I did, very much so, I feel bad for DD, and Adeline, and her sister, a real victim of their father’s psychosis.

Revisado: 08-05-24
This isn’t the first Lisa Gardner book that has a character with Münchausen’s. At this point it’s becoming a common character back story. It’s not bad, just normal at this point. I will say that while most of Gardner’s books have me somewhat surprised by the end, this one did not. Still a good, reasonably unexpected twist at the end.

Historia
Belle Cantrell felt guilty about killing her husband and she hated that. Feeling guilty, that is. A lady shouldn't do something she's going to feel guilty about later, was a rule Belle kept firmly in mind. So begins The Bad Behavior of Belle Cantrell, a story of murder, adultery, and regular church attendance, which introduces Belle Cantrell as a beautiful young widow with a rebellious streak, years before she will become grandmother to Sissy LeBlanc...

Southern ladies fight back
Revisado: 07-22-24
Belle isn’t just fighting for Suffrage, she fights for her right to be an individual, and a woman that can and should live her life how she’s sees fit, particularly at a time in the south when standing up for what was right, was frowned upon if it wasn’t benefitting the white Protestants, or white business owners of the area. Belle is a women’s woman. I’ve been a fan of another book of Loraine Despres’ The Scandelous Summer of Sissy LeBlanc. I wish it too were available in Audible, but it’s not. The narrator’s Southern accent is perfect for this book, and brings Belle to life.

Historia
In Lisa Gardner’s first-ever short story following 13 best-selling novels, "The 7th Month" takes listeners between the books and into a day in the life of Boston Detective D. D. Warren.
In her seventh month of pregnancy, D.D. should be taking it easy. Instead, she accepts a small consulting role on the set of a serial-killer film shooting in Boston. D.D. figures she’ll be useful to someone for at least one night, serving as a police expert and making a little extra money in the bargain. It seems like a simple task—until the previous film consultant, a former Boston cop, is found beaten to death.

Not her best
Revisado: 07-16-24
Not Gardner’s best by any stretch. It’s more about DD’s pregnancy than anything else. Usually an interim book in a series has more to it that helps it remain within that series, the only thing holding the Seventh Month in the series is DD HERSELF. I love DD, but I prefer her sctively solving crimes . This wasn’t even an interesting crime. Not worth a credit.
