Historia
Mike Mulvaney, a scientific prodigy who spent four years as a Maine after his father was almost killed in 9/11, went for a hike in the Adirondacks. He unknowingly walked through a star gate or portal to another world. The planet Cornu was settled by humans in the distance past who came through gates from Earth. There were changes to human genes that strongly influenced human society. More women than man dictated multiple wives. Low fertility and birthrate with low population growth limited large scale conflicts.

Where's Imperium Descent 3 ??
Revisado: 01-09-23
The Story continues and Mr. Hopper takes the reader on a spacer who dun-it yep there is a mystery inside the story that is visably unfolding before as the Narrator also named Mr. Hopper ( could they be related?)
The story further wraps you up into deciding how you want the story to go. So now its just a matter of how to get there from here, AH CRIT! I didn't expect that, will slap you on the bum a couple of times while leaving open a pathway to a whole new set of circumstances for ye to ponder.
how will this effect that is the long game? Well, i am admitting I'm hooked, so I'm gonna ride this one until the end you will too.
OH, you're asking "whats the mystery inside the story", it wouldn't be a mystery if I just came out and told you.
GEEEESH mate, I suppose you should just read the book and see if you can get the clues.

Historia
For four millennia, the sixteen planets of the Imperium sector have served as a bastion of peace against the Chaosic Regions. The Imperium's legacy can be attributed to the formidable military power of the Stratus, the enforcers of the Supreme and the Senate. However, as is often the case with empires, it is the smallest cracks that threaten to shatter their foundations.

I enjoyed the ride
Revisado: 11-17-22
1st, to avoid reading this lengthy review, B.L.U.F.
I absolutely recommend this book, I enjoyed it and you will to.
2nd, how in the (out of this) world does he come up with these names and words?
Is Mr. Hopper and Alien?
3rd, Mr. Hopper spent quite a bit of time developing the main characters for the story, some of the low born might say to much time, I say it was enough time to align yourself with the characters within this book as well as allowing him to concentrate on the story in the next installment which I have already listed as a must purst through my inquisita.
4th, I found myself thinking this is a of fantastic recipe of stories such as Star Wars ep.4 (Lucas) not the Disney crit. with a cup of Altlas shrugged and a dash of total recall (Arnold) not that other smarmy crit!
Melded together with a brilliant originality and purpose.
5th, As towards the narrator, we all have our favorites and oft times we choose our selection based on this bias. If i am not mistaken this is Mr. Hopper's first narration of his own Authorship, it was refreshing to hear the passion as the Author intended and I can only imagine the difficulty to give birth to your creation through audible media thus making yourself vulnerable on two fronts. Rest easy Mr. Hopper "You Good Job"!
6th, the bloopers ar the end.
LMAO!
As a Scot I have trouble saying the word Purple so the bloopers weren't bad just futher supports the Alien theory.

cheaper than a big Mac but harder to swallow!
Revisado: 08-16-22
I cannot complain to much because I Purchased the box set at a promotional rate, so I got what I paid for. I purchased this series to buy time until a couple of my favorites released their next book in series it did occupy se amount of time to drudge through the series, so there is that.
the story started off as a "Meh" and ended with an "UGH". I did finish the 6 book boxset hoping it would get better and it didn't. The ending of book 6 was "huh?"
I found myself just willing the series to end so I could get to a good books I had in reserve.
In the end it served its purpose as a completely forgettable series that occupied empty space between other series were released.

low speed high drag
Revisado: 05-18-22
I believe the story was a decent story and also believe.it has potential for a.series.
the majority of my dislike is with the narrator. I had to speed the story up to 125 in order to get the feel of excitement within yhe telling of the story.
the narrator was (in my opinion) was so boring and slow in the presentation that it was a kind to reading an installation guide for a 5 tier shelving unit from ikea. The same inflection when describing mundane character building as when describing the battle scenes.
big yawn! the story was saved by speeding it up to 125 to simulate excitement through speed of delivery.
I don't know if the slow presentation was to boost the time to deliver for sales purposes or if the fella just is this boring. if I were to engage in a conversation with this guy I'm afraid I would simply fall asleep do to lack of interest from the oratory delivery.

Post-apocalyptic fiction by Sean Liscom. Jason Sterling had a simple life by all accounts. He had worked the same job his entire adult life, he had never married and he had no children. He was used to doing things on his own. His comfortable life was shaken to the core the day he learned of his fathers death. hmmmm, nope
Revisado: 05-13-22
as an avid fan of the first few book it seems the story is getting stretched out and getting thread bare. I am debating a refund but don't believe it is bad enough for a refund but it is boring enough not to get the next one.
I guess it was because the 1st few books were incredibly informative as to the administrative details and preparedness mindset of prepping groups but has devolved into the same old, same old blah you get from lessor authors.
I suppose me and the sterling Ranch are gonna have to part ways. adios amigos thanks for the ride.

No sooner had my two Jeep convoy cleared the gate of the ranch when I received a radio call from Jill. She informed me that O.P. 3 had just spotted a Hummer driving down the road about five miles south of the ranch. It was headed south, away from Elko and the ranch at a high rate of speed. When we reached the main road, I cranked the wheel to the left and pushed the throttle to the floor.

Well, I am disappointed
Revisado: 11-25-21
as a subscriber to the ranch series although I broke my personal rule of not spending hard earned credits for a book less than 8 hours,I was excited to listen to another book. that was until I listened to it.
About the story.
the story was consistent with the previous in the series except this time it seemed somewhat like ground hog day, same old splick, different day.
after listening to it again I realized this part of the continuing saga needed to be told. in my opinion I believe this SHORT story was standing in as filler for the next book.
I ignored the reviews.stating the narrator had changed for the worse, that was until I listened to the book.
I usually don't say nay nay my brother without trying first, (I'm giving a review here don't make this weird), I was willing to give it a go after all folks have to start somewhere.
sad to say this was noticeable within the 1st chapter.
articulation, diction, clear concise speech are an audible narrators friends.
I will look for the next in the series but this one is definitely not a keeper for me. If the next one exceeds 8 hours and the narrator clears up his vocal issues, I will flip a coin.
hopefully this doesn't discourage the author because there is a good story here its just details, if it can't be fixed then I will have to say adios partner to the Ranch.
