A great story that keeps on giving
Revisado: 04-20-25
All hail the eternal flame. John's powers grow into godhood and he hoists his friends to even greater heights, setting the groundwork for some new interactions with dragons, men, gods, and at least one empire. All watch and gather for what is sure to be a raucously good time. I can't wait for the next installment!

Baelin had better be doing something awesome
Revisado: 04-03-25
If I could request one thing to change in this book, I would ask that it not end. What a great installment! I want more. Hopefully, the next book reveals Baelin doing something mind-bogglingly cool. epic. fire. Alex Roth had his turn in this tale and I can't wait to see what comes next.

The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

Revisado: 02-21-25
Written, proofed, narrated, and recorded by literal gods, Dungeon Crawler Carl reigns supreme! No other LitRPG series comes close to this zany, untouchable, wackadoodle, magnificent, and beloved series. Thank you so much to all involved in producing it. Seriously, thank you!

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

GET IT! (pen roll ch 29 @ about 7:30)
Revisado: 02-07-25
Fantastic pacing. Clear visuals. A perfect premise for any dragon lover. Narration is excellent (although there is an unfortunate pen roll in chapter 29 around the 7 minute 30 second mark that occurs between narration/words and can probably be removed). For a LitRPG and Fantasy afficionado, this book hits the spot; I'd buy it 10x over!

After going to hell and back, Alex Roth has gained knowledge about the Traveller, Thameland’s cycle, and the hidden priests that serve Uldar’s will. Anticipating his identity being discovered sooner or later, he plans to make himself so famous and indispensable to Generasi that the priests would not even have a prayer of dragging him into the war’s frontlines. Segue into Book 8, Can't Wait
Revisado: 12-23-24
Baelin steps out, Alex steps in, and the whole group of heroes and college friends investigates Oldar just long enough to finish 'Mark of The Fool 7' on a cliffhanger. Maybe if we ply Mr. J.M Clark with a bunch of stimulants, we readers will see books 8, 9, and 10 pop out real quick in succession just in time for a thorough binge! 5/5! Can't wait (another year) for Book 8!

Historia
In a world full of super powers, Felix had a pretty crappy one. After learning to harness his ability to modify any item he owns, he now runs a corporation that is rapidly expanding - Legion. After tangling with the local Heroes guild they’ve finally settled into a semblance of stability. Sounds great on paper. Run your company, make money, be your own boss, settle down. Except that with running a business, comes an inordinate amount of responsibilities. Like making sure everything keeps running and your people are paid.

Jarring jumps between plot points
Revisado: 12-18-24
There are a lot of things in this book that pop into existence out of nowhere. Last book, I was suprised by the mech suits as I didn't think they fit the story well. This book, I thought the otherworldly portals, Thailand, and gods situation were jarring. It's as if the author is trying to expand the scope of the series all at once without filling out the foundation first. Because of this and a few other issues I took with this installment (narrator change, missed opportunities etc), I actually returned book 3 for a credit refund. While I am curious about the origins of Felix's powers and will likely miss the harem drama a bit, over all, I simply do not trust the author to develop the story in a way that most adult readers would expect. There are a ton of series out there more deserving of a look and I plan to go check them out first. Who knows, maybe I'll stop back by Super Sales for Super Heroes if there are some real world sales or something.

In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Fun enough, but could be better
Revisado: 12-15-24
SPOILER ALERT, MILD: Bypassing by the whole slavery and herem issues, this book is fun enough for what it is. I do think a few things could've been better though. For instance, after the main character, Felix, loses nearly everyone he comes to care about in the 'final battle, there is a moment he snickers and sings (which is totally out of character, unrealistic, and antagonistic to the mood of the story at the time). But that's just one single moment in what is otherwise an entertaining-enough 10 hour audiobook.

Superior Book Craft At Work Here
Revisado: 12-13-24
The pen divine, the pages delicate, and the author envigored--only through this rare combination has such magical book came to be! That, and some trippy mindf**kry. Plus a splash of blood. Actually, I'm not sure how such an entertaining book came to be, but I thank those who made it happen. There is not a better LitRPG series out there. Dungeon Crawler Carl reigns supreme! Thanks Matt Dinniman, Jeff Hayes, and Soundbooth Theaters!

The ratings and views are off the chart. The fans just can't get enough. The dungeon gets more dangerous each day. But in a grinder designed to chew up and spit out crawlers by the millions, Carl and Princess Donut need to work harder than ever just to survive. They call it the Over City. A sprawling, once-thriving metropolis devastated by a mysterious calamity. But these streets are far from abandoned. An undead circus trawls the ruins. Murdered prostitutes rain from the sky. An ancient spell is finally ready to reveal its dark purpose.

For young teens, mostly
Revisado: 12-06-24
If I was an emotional 14 year old lesbian going through puberty, then this is the book my religious mother wouldn't want me to listen to. As is, I'm a 30 year old dude trying out 3D audio and appreciating the Dolby Atmos immersive experience while shaking my head at the supposed storyline and unrelateable characters. This one's not for me, obviously, but maybe you'll like it. The voice actors are top notch and the sound carries you away with the fluidity of water--sometimes calm, sometimes raging. Bonus points to the people behind the scenes that make this kind of experience possible, and to Audible for putting this kind of work out there in the world. Produce something with narrative substance and you'll conquer the world with this technological wonder.
