Historia
In the summer of 2022, Lee Berger lost 50 pounds in order to wriggle though impossibly small openings in the Rising Star cave complex in South Africa—spaces where his team has been unearthing the remains of Homo naledi, a proto-human likely to have coexisted with Homo sapiens some 250,000 years ago. Lead researcher Berger had never made his way into the dark, cramped, dangerous underground spaces where many of the naledi fossils had been found. Now he was ready to do so. Once inside the cave, Berger made shocking new discoveries that expand our understanding of this early hominid.

Fascinating!
Revisado: 01-29-24
I enjoyed this as an adventure story and have to wonder who in their right mind would squish themselves into a tight crevice in a pitch black cave to see where they pop out? What if they didn’t? Or what if they fell forever? Terrifying. I can’t think of any question I’ve been so passionate to answer that I would willingly push myself through a sharp, stone, birth canal. You can hear the excitement and awe in the author’s voice throughout the whole book. It’s like listening to a little kid going, “Guys! Guess what I found?!” He’s so eager to share, and I am so glad he did. Now I have new material to ponder about our origins, who our neighbors were. Thanks so much for publishing this book! Loved it.

It’s become a tradition of mine to either read or listen to The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I absolutely love the exaggerated description of the entire story, and the vocabulary is priceless.

Historia
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

I admire my addict friends who were able to quit their demons. Their own stories are remarkable, but MATT’s story… wow.
Thank you, Matty, for continuing to try and try again, and succeed. I love a happy ending. Keep on keeping on.

Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Absolutely beautiful
Revisado: 07-20-22
I started this audiobook and could not stop. I listened to snippets at my desk when I had 5 minutes of peace, in the car, I walked the neighborhood, had in my headphones to cook, eat, do dishes, laundry, I even mopped just for an excuse to focus on this story. I love Viola Davis’s voice. I love her inflection, emotion, and presentation. I first noticed her as Ma Rainey. Who is THAT? My God that woman can act! And look at her pictures on the internet! Isn’t she beautiful! Who is this? I had no idea she played Abilene in The Help until I was half way through this story.
Now I have had the privilege of learning who Viola Davis is. Thank you, Ms. Davis- it was really none of my business, but you shared your Self anyway. I’m inspired to be …(?) …more me.

Loved it
Revisado: 06-18-21
An honest book. I loved it. In the first 15 minutes I cried 3 times. I loved Sinead’s first 2 albums when I was in college. I wore out the tapes. I am happy to know the story of why she tore up the picture of the Pope, and I applaud her. It was the right thing to do once you know the context of the incident. Her musical interests took a turn. While she somehow managed to retain her faith, I became atheist. She probably wouldn’t care for me, but I am in awe of her and I congratulate her. The very best for your tour! Maybe you’ll come my way.

As a Potawatomi woman, she learned from elders, family, and history that the Potawatomi, as well as a majority of other cultures indigenous to this land, consider plants and animals to be our oldest teachers.

When Zlata's Diary was first published at the height of the Bosnian conflict, it became an international best-seller and was compared to The Diary of Anne Frank, both for the freshness of its voice and the grimness of the world it describes. As war engulfs Sarajevo, Zlata Filipovic becomes a witness to food shortages and the deaths of friends and learns to wait out bombardments in a neighbor's cellar. Yet throughout, she remains courageous and observant.

Heartbreaking
Revisado: 01-10-16
I'm 46. I wondered if I might enjoy a diary written from one of the adults, or if I might have related better and really bonded with Zlata if I were a school girl. By the end of the book, this poor child had grown up so much. Much too much! I had been hoping to learn why the war happened, but if the people who lived through it can't understand it, I'm sure I can't either.
It's frightening. Now there is the Syrian Refugee Crisis. American's are split on every little issue. Terrorists keep popping up here and there. I'm sure the war in Sarajevo started over less.
I appreciate her willingness to share her diary with us. I can't say it was "enjoyable", but it was interesting, frightening, and always full of hope.

Bending the Boyne
Revisado: 10-25-15
I enjoyed the story very much. I have been fascinated by Newgrange and the Hill of Tara, and I really wanted to know all the wild, esoteric secrets they held. I was very content to hear about the simple, peaceful people who used the mounds and carved the rocks. I think I enjoyed the epilogue as much as the story, and spent some time on the internet looking up artifacts and people.
