The Gray Man is on a simple mission when he sees a ghost: the long-dead terrorist, but he's remarkably energetic for a dead man. A decade of time hasn't changed the Gray Man. He isn't one to leave a job unfinished or a blood debt unpaid.

A stolen US army drone. A shrinking oasis in the Sahara Desert. A secret stash of deadly chemicals. Each is a threat to the stability of the world but individually are problems that can be overcome. In the diplomatic arena though, everyone will have a different way of dealing with such a threat. And when those in charge disagree and refuse to back down, it will kick off an international chain reaction with potentially catastrophic consequences: a world edging closer to war....

Historia
When singer, musician, and broadcast journalist Malka Marom had the opportunity to interview Joni Mitchell in 1973, she was eager to reconnect with the performer that she'd first met late one night in 1966 at a Yorkville coffeehouse. More conversations followed over the next four decades of friendship, and it was only after Joni and Malka completed their last recorded interview, in 2012, that Malka discovered the heart of their discussions: the creative process.

On rare occasion, a fascinating artist will endeavor to peel back the curtain and truly reveal themselves: Their craft, their thoughts, their pain, their humanity. But it is even more rare that the artist actually possesses the range of gifts to pull it off. St. Vincent is such an artist. And St. Vincent: Words plus Music is such an experience.

An old Soviet weapons installation in the Arctic has fallen into disrepair. Known as Dragon Island, the facility is home to a next-generation weapon with the potential to unleash a destructive force upon the world that was developed during the Cold War and subsequently forgotten. Top quality hard hitting action.
Revisado: 02-25-13
If you could sum up Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves in three words, what would they be?
seat-edged geopolitical action.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
by never revealing the enemy each turn was a blind corner and each reaction was fast and furious.
Which character – as performed by Sean Mangan – was your favorite?
Scarecrow is the undoubted favourite
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
it made me think that although the plot was fantastic it was close to a possibility in terms of the way countries behave and treat their friends and their enemies.
Any additional comments?
Great book, great writer, great series

Better than all the Movies
Revisado: 12-27-12
Would you consider the audio edition of Frankenstein to be better than the print version?
The deep fear of The Monster builds as you realise theta human's are worse and in effect created him as themselves.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Victor meets the Monster in the Glacier and is entreated to listen to words which would otherwise melt granite hearts
Did Jim Donaldson do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I thought the Creature was the main weak link the other was the Narator who blended with Victor and was hard to differentiate
Who was the most memorable character of Frankenstein and why?
The Monster, I felt for him

Historia
Brand Whitlock was an American attorney, author, elected official and diplomat in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He wrote this excellent little life of Lincoln but recognized that his book could serve only as an introduction to the great man's life when he wrote, "To compress between the covers of a little book like this the whole story of AbrahamLincoln, to present within such limitations a life so epical, a character so original and yet so universal, is obviously impossible."

America's first citizen: where example leads
Revisado: 12-11-12
What did you like best about Abraham Lincoln? What did you like least?
The character of Lincoln builds and leaves you in awe of the mind. The delivery is very dry and choppy
Would you be willing to try another book from Brand Whitlock? Why or why not?
The book is about the person on the author hence not particularly
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jim Killavey?
James Earl Jones
Was Abraham Lincoln worth the listening time?
Yes time well spent
Any additional comments?
The key speeches are included but there start and end is hard to pick.

Historia
When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early 40s, the town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.... Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen.

Revisado: 11-05-12
Would you listen to The Casual Vacancy again? Why?
I never listen to books a second time but i would go back to parts of this book as new circumstances need review.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Casual Vacancy?
Confronting domestic violence and self abuse and trying to think like the victim Andrew Secvindar
What about Tom Hollander’s performance did you like?
Tim was very well rounded. Each character was believable
Who was the most memorable character of The Casual Vacancy and why?
Secvindar as her dyslexia and lack of self belief stemmed from parents too proud to recognise their daughter needed support not threats.
Any additional comments?
From fantasy (Hogworts / Lower Whinging) to reality, (Packford / Yarville) with the same naturally magical, literary skills.

Historia
The Great Recession that began in 2007 is now more than four years old - and counting. Some 24 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed, and at recent rates of job creation we won’t be back to normal levels of employment until late this decade. This is a tragedy. Do we have to accept it? "No!" is the resounding answer given by Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman in this call to arms. We have seen this situation before and we know how to fix it; all we lack is the political will to take action.

after all the dumb things you can get it right
Revisado: 09-10-12
If you could sum up End This Depression Now! in three words, what would they be?
an enlightened way
What other book might you compare End This Depression Now! to and why?
Charles darwin's Origin of the Species
What does Rob Shapiro and Paul Krugman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The Rob Shipiro input allows you to feel the emotion and desperation emphasis which the book alone can't deliver
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me rethink current populist economic dogma just like Origin of the Species on how man was created and to free myself from a self serving economic religion.
Any additional comments?
You must read this to understand the fundamental wrong headed ness of current ecomomic dogma
