Historia
This book explores real-life instances in which everyday people like you and me came face-to-face with danger they hadn't seen coming. While some lived to tell the tale, sadly, others did not. Included are true accounts of a power outage that put a young family in the crosshairs of a stranger with ill-intent, a teenager who found herself at the mercy of a pair of would-be kidnappers after being stranded in the middle of the night, a caregiver whose patient may have been more than she seemed, a young girl whose friends turned out to be her worst enemies, a case of mistaken identity that ...

Surprisingly a good read
Revisado: 03-05-25
Most of these stories I had never heard before. The book was written really well and the AI voice was really good. A couple of very small mistakes but nothing that distracted from the book.

Love the book, Narrator not so much.
Revisado: 10-04-22
I really enjoy the True Crimes series but this narrator just isn't very good. He speaks in a very monotone and flat manor.
As I mentioned, the book itself is great but please get a different narrator!!

Historia
The narrative we're comfortable with is one where women are the victims of violent crime - not the perpetrators. In fact, serial killers are thought to be so universally male that, in 1998, FBI profiler Roy Hazelwood infamously declared that there are no female serial killers. Inspired by Telfer's Jezebel column of the same name, Lady Killers disputes that claim and offers 14 gruesome examples as evidence.

Different but good
Revisado: 01-16-20
The book isn't quite what I was expecting. Although it was very good. I learned about women I had never heard of before and their history.
It didn't have the usual suspects that you would expect. If you're interested in true crime and history then this is the book for you.

In her grandmother's fine, rich Boston house, Heaven Leigh Casteel dreamed of a wonderful new life of new friends, the best schools, beautiful clothes, and most important, love. But even in the world of the wealthy, there were strange forebodings, secrets best forgotten. My favorite series
Revisado: 07-15-19
This is really my favorite series from V.C. Andrews but the narrator is making this very difficult to finish. It took me longer than usual for me to finish the first book because I had to keep stopping.

My favorite series
Revisado: 07-10-19
This is my favorite series by V.C. Andrews. I've been waiting a long time for it to come to audible. The only complaint I have is the narrator. She barely has any emotion and it comes across whiney. I'm really trying to enjoy the book without cringing all the way through it.
