Historia
In 1991, acting on a tip from a local fisherman, two scuba divers discovered a sunken German U-boat, complete with its crew of 60 men, not too far off the New Jersey coast. The divers, realizing the momentousness of their discovery, began probing the mystery. Over the next six years, they became expert and well-traveled researchers, taught themselves German, hunted for clues in Germany, and constructed theories corrective of the history books, all in an effort to identify this sunken U-boat and its crew.

Historia
At the height of World War II, LOOK Magazine profiled a small American community for a series of articles portraying it as the wholesome, patriotic model of life on the home front. Decades later, author Matthew A. Rozell tracks down over 30 survivors who fought the war in the Pacific, from Pearl Harbor to the surrender at Tokyo Bay. The book resurrects firsthand accounts of combat and brotherhood, of captivity and redemption, and the aftermath of a war.

As a retired USN commander, pilot and son of a GM3 on LST 608 (Leyte Gulf and Okinawa), this book brought home many memories, good and bad, which I thank you for. Great research and formulation. Superb narration. I look forward to the next 2 volumes from a very gifted author. Bravo Zulu and Sierra Hotel!

A most awesome book and great narration. For anybody out there that has not read with the old breed I highly recommend it. It’s a 30 year veteran myself, I found everything in both of those books, and everything that he did to be an honor to serve my country, although not in the capacity that he did, with great pride

Mr. O’Donnell, my dad served four years in the Pacific in the Navy, landing Guadalcanal and ending in Okinawa . Your book was a great tribute to men like him and so many others that were all but forgotten when they came home. I will follow your career and follow your books and will read them religiously thank you so much. CDR Rik Cutting, USN-Retired

Historia
On April Fourth, 1945, United States Army units from the 89th Infantry Division and the Fourth Armored Division seized Ohrdruf, the first of many Nazi concentration camps to be liberated in Germany. In the weeks that followed, as more camps were discovered, thousands of soldiers came face to face with the monstrous reality of Hitler's Germany. These men discovered the very depths of human-imposed cruelty and depravity.

Historia
As the Allies raced to defeat Hitler, four men, all in the same unit, earned medal after medal for battlefield heroism. Maurice “Footsie” Britt, a former professional football player, became the very first American to receive every award for valor in a single war. Michael Daly was a West Point dropout who risked his neck over and over to keep his men alive. Keith Ware would one day become the first and only draftee in history to attain the rank of general before serving in Vietnam. In WWII, Ware owed his life to the finest soldier he ever commanded, a baby-faced Texan named Audie Murphy.

Historia
In the spring of 1864, Robert E. Lee faced a new adversary: Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant. Named commander of all Union armies in March, Grant quickly went on the offensive against Lee in Virginia. On May 4th, Grant's army struck hard across the Rapidan River into north central Virginia, with Lee's army contesting every mile. They fought for 40 days until, finally, the Union army crossed the James River and began the siege of Petersburg. The campaign cost 90,000 men - the largest loss the war had seen.

Historia
In March 1941 Jimmy Stewart, America's boy next door and recent Academy Award winner, left fame and fortune behind and joined the United States Army Air Corps to fulfill his family mission and serve his country. He rose from private to colonel and participated in 20 often-brutal World War II combat missions over Germany and France. In mere months the war took away his boyish looks as he faced near-death experiences and the loss of men under his command. The war finally won, he returned home with millions of other veterans to face an uncertain future.

An awesome book – fantastic in every regard
Revisado: 03-20-22
What a wonderful and enlightening read this was. Having growing up when Jimmy Stewart was an actor, and met him on a few occasions, I never knew his complete background as a Bomber pilot. The fact that the man went through all this, and brought us all nothing but a great time on the screen, is a tribute to this great man. I hardly recommend this book to anyone interested in World War II and the Hollywood celebrities they did, or did not, support it.
