Historia
The isolated cottage on the remote Hebridean island of Moila seemed like an ideal away-from-it-all retreat for writer Rose Fenemore, a place where she could work in peace, and where her brother Crispin could walk, fish, and photograph the birds and wildlife. But it is not easy to escape the world and its troubles. Crispin's arrival is delayed, and Rose, on her own in the lonely cottage, has to cope with two very different men who come in from the sea on a night of summer storm.

Delightful—transported me!
Revisado: 11-21-24
I loved this little story! Clean mystery with a hint of romance. The vivid descriptions of the Highlands and the sea and wildlife were delightful. I felt transported to Scotland of yesteryear.

I loved the positive message!
Revisado: 11-01-24
This was a very enjoyable book—it has a feel similar to the Narnia stories, but with a modern day twist. The messages are positive and applicable to real life situations. “It’s never too late to make things right, or at least try.”

Historia
Wicked wolves and a grim governess threaten Bonnie and her cousin Sylvia when Bonnie's parents leave Willoughby Chase for a sea voyage. Left in the care of the cruel Miss Slighcarp, the girls can hardly believe what is happening to their once happy home. The servants are dismissed, the furniture is sold, and Bonnie and Sylvia are sent to a prison-like orphan school. It seems as if the endless hours of drudgery will never cease.

Excellent Reader!
Revisado: 02-10-24
My 9 yr-old daughter wanted to share this book with me, which her class has been reading in school. So once or twice a week we put on the audiobook and build a puzzle together—it has been the sweetest time! The story has the right combination of hardships, adventure, wicked people who are brought to justice, and the sweetest two little cousins!

Historia
With trademark humor and no-nonsense practicality, Rachel Jankovic explains the fake story of the self, starting with the inventions of a supremely ugly man named Sartre (rhymes with "blart"). And we - men and women, young and old - have bought his lie of the best self, with terrible results.

Spot On
Revisado: 02-24-23
Rachel Jankovic gets right to the heart of the matter—There’s no beating around the bush in this book! :) It’s refreshing in its honesty, and if you read it with an open heart, God will speak to your heart through the Scripture Truths put forth by Rachel. Finding this book came at the perfect time for me personally, as I have struggled with who I am at this point in motherhood. It is an encouraging book for anyone searching for meaning in their lives, and would be especially helpful for searching teens.
