I wish I had the opportunity to meet Dr Goldratt while he was alive. Listening to him is like listening to a master orator who takes you on a journey that deconstructs things we perceive as extremely complex into mind blowing commensensical truths that apply to any and every organization (while laughing all the way). He has forced me to start challenging many assumptions I've held for so long, and also motivated me to challenge others. Rest in peace Dr. You truly changed the world.

A truly transformational and foundational book that's a must read for every leader, manager, or change agent. Irrespective of your industry, the core principles presented here are near universal in helping any organization understand first, the mindset and assumptions that have to be challenged, and then the influences and techniques needed to transform and maximize their delivery of business value.

Truly a book needed to drive change in bringing gender equality, though a pivot to calling this gender "equity" is what I feel would address the pockets of what I felt were occasionally contradictory concepts on needing "special treatment" for women. Ultimately, the driving message of creating a world where women have the same options as men is the key, which may or may not result in a 50-50 distribution of everything.

Finished it twice in two months, and planning on going through it again and again, until every concept and technique is second nature to me. This book starts off breaking a number of beliefs we (ie. almost everyone) strongly hold about why changing behaviours are so difficult. By the end of the book, you realize those myths busting claims are very welcome slaps in the face forces you to change your take on every change situation.

Switch ia now a top 5 all-time read on my list. I plan on getting both the ebook and physical in addition to the audiobook.

This book is a quite good overall and provides mostly the right information about Scrum as defined in the scrum guide. However, there were quite a number of occasions where certain processes (eg. Burndown charts, the 3 questions in a stand-up) were provided as correct answers as if they were part of the scrum guide.

So if you are planning of taking the test, be mindful that this book has some dodgy aspects, and I'll strongly recommend to first read the scrum guide, and get "Scrum Product Owner - 500 hundred certification questions" by Jimmy Mathew (where questions are narrated with all answer options before telling you the answer), before listening to this.

To start, I will likely identify as a "multipotentialite". Though I am a Computer science major, I've started and run a small clothing line, produced instrumentals and music, involved in creating graphic designs, logos, websites etc for friends and companies, among a few other things. But the thing is, most of the people and friends I know can easily all be defined as "multipotentialite", maybe not with such an expansive list of stuff. Civil Engineers with a passion for photography. Biological science majors doing music and photography.

It's quite normal for people to have multiple passions. A good number of the examples provided in the book are basically just that. People with hobbies. And so, it's the author's excessive and forceful attempt at trying to create a type of "misunderstood" or oppressed group of people (ie. multipotentialites) out of regular people, that I find extremely off putting, and almost narcissistic. Sadly, I believe this 'we are so special', us against them mentality and deep desire to self validate is evidenced by the main theme of the final chapter, ie. the author's struggles with other identity issues, one of which was her career.

Case in point, the author's defensive recommendation of, 'Maybe this shouldn't be your friend" about acquaintances you meet in some gathering who show a mixed reaction to you presenting yourself as a "multipotentialite". I'm sorry, they are just making conversations. Let's not think too highly of ourselves.

The world doesn't dislike "multipotentialites" who have a passion for and can do many things (something the author inexplicably reiterates several times throughout the book). To the contrary. That is a generally desired and enviable trait. What no one likes is someone who is constantly flaking out of multiple endeavors, passion projects, or careers mainly because of mediocrity or lack of success. And yes, the third reason why people quit stuff is not only due to "resistance" or it becoming too easy. Sometimes people quit because they are very bad at it or are just pure lazy. Let's not blame all failures on "external" forces. That's just very disingenuous.

All in all, this is a very passable book. It has some good tips for folks and entrepreneurs like myself who want to work on multiple projects. Though most of those tips are from other books, so I might have been better off getting those books instead. This is my first ever 3 star rating for all the audiobooks I've listened (and my longest review for that matter). I really had high hopes for this book. Ah well.

A good read with lots of good nuggets of knowledge spread around. But the utility of this book is quite limited to CEOs of large tech companies or companies looking to go public, not your average tech entrepreneur.

This book encompasses all the core concepts and principles needed run modern tech and product businesses. The examples included, along with sample tools and tech mentioned for each example, make it easy to follow-through as research areas for potential testing and implementation of those same models for your own Devops journey.

Of particular importance is the stress of the human aspect of the entire DevOps transformation that leaders should be mindful of. Devops requires a high-trust people-first environment in order for it to succeed.
