Historia
When Kate Bishop, the young Hawkeye, solves a minor crime and saves the surprisingly cute Milo in the process, she counts it as a rare win. But a mix-up of their bags means that nope, Kate's life is still refusing to run smoothly. In that bag is a mysterious book that holds powerful, dangerous secrets—ones that New York City's most powerful super villain, the Kingpin, would kill to uncover.

I’m a Marvel comics fan and found this to be great light fun. It’s definitely going on my re-listen list.

Historia
Take a tour through the horror paperback novels of two iconic decades...if you dare. Hear shocking plot summaries that invoke devil worship, satanic children, and haunted real estate! Horror author and vintage paperback book collector Grady Hendrix offers killer commentary and witty insight on these trashy thrillers that tried so hard to be the next Exorcist or Rosemary's Baby. Complete with story summaries and artist and author profiles, this unforgettable volume dishes on familiar authors like V. C. Andrews and R. L. Stine, plus many more.

Brilliant!
Revisado: 02-23-21
This is a fantastic review of 70s and 80s horror fiction that strikes the perfect balance between appreciation and tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement of the tropes of the era and the narrator does a splendid job.

Western civilization is closely associated with reason and science, and with exceptional accomplishments in art, architecture, music, and literature.Yet it has also been characterized by widespread belief in the supernatural and the irrational - with mystics who have visions of the divine and entire movements of people who wait in fervent anticipation of the apocalypse.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 08-06-18
It contained some interesting information but was not up to the standards of the other Great Courses I've listened to. The presenter was very hard to understand and the presentation style was quite disjointed. I'm really happy that I didn't pay full price for this.
