I am blown away....

This was a history lesson and possibly a genealogy lesson as well. As an African American Roman Catholic with roots dating back to Maryland around 1775...and a great aunt who was a Roman Catholic Nun in Maryland....I am floored by this book. My family names are Hawkins, Brown, and Butler.....I will be listening to this book again, taking notes, and hitting Ancestory.com for more information. The Church we love so much played part in the destruction of black families through slavery. This book was mind blowing.

Michelle Obama is easy going and let's us in a little further into her life and thoughts. I felt like I was listening to a wiser older colleague or friend who was sharing her inner most insecurities and methods for dealing with her life. I took away lessons on parenting. relationships, work, friendships, and so much more. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is u sure of themselves, felt different, or just open to learning a little more about MO.

Will Smith is a complex man who bares his soul, his ego, and his journey to healing. This audio autobiography was reminisce of radio performances long before my time. It was full of music and even some clips from his TV show. I highly recommend this audible book.

I loved this autobiography of Viola Davis! It was rivetting and insightful. Viola is a beautiful and polished woman and actress. I would have never imagined her life was filled with so much trauma growing up. This is a beautifully written book and Viola is easy to listen to..her voice is like velvet, thick and smooth. I will replay this book again. I will also recommend it to my family and friends.
