Not a typical book that I normally read. However I was completely pulled into the story and the wonderful characters. The naval battles were well written and it felt like I was on the ship. This book is a wonderful step back into time to a world almost forgotten. I am hopeful that the story will be continued soon.

Historia
It's been a week since the dragon Morishtomaric fell, and Sardelle is not convinced that Ridge is truly gone. With a companion who thinks he's a god and a soldier who would happily kill her, she heads back to the mountains to look for signs that Ridge survived. What they uncover threatens to destroy their country and all they care about.

Dragons, magic and a great story!

I am fully invested in this series of books. The characters are well defined and so is the story. I didn't expect the mushy sometimes racy bits but it's not over the top lol. The performance of the narrator is extremely wonderful and greatly added to the story.

Historia
Everyone knows dragons have been extinct for over 1,000 years. Everyone is wrong. At least one dragon remains, and military scientists from the Cofah Empire are experimenting with its blood, using the magical substance to power deadly new weapons that could be used to bring the world to its knees. That's a concern for Zirkander, Cas, and the rest of the Iskandians, but all Tolemek wants is to find his missing sister.

Historia
Goldengrove’s towers and twisted chimneys rose at the very edge of the peaceful Weald, a stone’s throw from the poisonous marshes and merciless waters of Rye Bay. Young Tabby Palethorp had been running wild there, ever since her mother grew too ill to leave her room. I was the perfect choice to give Tabby a good English education: thoroughly respectable and far too plain to tempt her lonely father, Sir Kit, to indiscretion. I knew better than to trust my new employer with the truth about my past. But knowing better couldn’t stop me from yearning for impossible things.

I stumbled upon this story looking for something different. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but I started listening to it half expecting to never finish it. Boy was I wrong... I devoured this story. It is not for the faint of heart, but I loved it and will listen to it again. Wonderfully written and beautifully narrated.

Historia
Imagine a blackout lasting not days, but weeks or months. Tens of millions of people over several states are affected. For those without access to a generator, there is no running water, no sewage, no refrigeration or light. Food and medical supplies are dwindling. Devices we rely on have gone dark. Banks no longer function, looting is widespread, and law and order are being tested as never before.

This was well thought out and has given me much to think about. I knew that our infrastructure was old and lacking protection but I never realized just how exposed we really are until reading this book.
