Historia
Over the past 20 years, Matthew Kelly has seen more of the world than most presidents and more of the Church than most bishops. Now, in this unique and timely book, he proposes that Catholicism is not a lifeless set of rules and regulations, but a way of life designed by God to help each person reach his or her full potential. With remarkable insight, Kelly dispels dozens of myths that surround the rejection of Catholicism today and provides a profound and practical vision of what will lead the Catholic Church to thrive again in the future.

A little disappointed.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I was very much looking forward to this book. At first, loved the narrator's voice and style of speaking. But as the book went on, it dragged. A lot of what was said could have been accomplished in a much more condensed version.
Would you recommend Rediscover Catholicism to your friends? Why or why not?
No. It is very lengthy and took too long to get the main points across to the listener.
What didn’t you like about Matthew Kelly’s performance?
Narrator was great and lovely to listen to.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have read a few books about St. Francis and St. Clare and this one is by far the best. The author delves into the very real circumstances of Francis' life. It includes the history of what was taking place in the Church at that time. And how Francis' conversion and new way of life has impacted our world.
What did you like best about this story?
I love how, to this day, Francis' life and decision to live like Jesus, still impacts change in the Catholic church. Jesus spoke to Francis from the cross at San Damiano, telling him to "rebuild his church". To this day, the life of Francis still influences the "rebuild" of the Catholic church. The book ties together why Pope Francis chose the name of Francis, and how Pope Francis is working so hard on rebuilding a church that has been is so great of need of repair.

Historia
Beloved former ABC 20/20 anchor Elizabeth Vargas reveals her alcohol addiction and anxiety disorder in a shockingly honest and emotional memoir. From the moment she uttered the brave and honest words, "I am an alcoholic," to interviewer George Stephanopoulos, Elizabeth Vargas began writing her story, as her experiences were still raw. Now, in Between Breaths, Vargas discusses her accounts of growing up with anxiety—which began suddenly at the age of six when her father served in Vietnam.

Provides great insight!
Revisado: 11-22-16
What did you love best about Between Breaths?
Elizabeth Vargas shares the darkness (and the light) of living with a disease that many suffer from, that many families must survive the consequences of, and through her courage helps us to understand. It is likely that every person knows someone who lives with addiction. This book provides insight to how addiction can creep up, become integrated into our daily lives, and take over our lives. With that in mind, the next question is: how can it be stopped before the individual gets so far along that their feet are pulled out from under them?
What does Elizabeth Vargas bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Hearing her voice, telling her own story of evolving into the disease of alcoholism, had a profound effect on processing her words. Much more effective than simply reading the book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
Elizabeth Vargas shows us that being an alcoholic may not be the same visual we had about what alcoholics look like, sound like, live like. A person close to you may be suffering from addiction and you do not even know it. This book will help open many hearts to compassion for those who live with the challenge of addictions.

Historia
Brilliantly wresting meaning from the historical, social and religious strands of his story, Carroll illuminates the Church's transformation from reactionary monolith to an institution in which the deepest aspects of faith are being called into question. Carroll reveals his own story--as a Catholic boy in the 1940s and '50s, as a seminarian and priest in the crucible of the 1960s and early '70s, and as a committed but questioning Catholic today--with an emotional impact reminiscent of his An American Requiem.

It helped me understand my own struggles with the faith in which I was raised.
