maybe the most amazing history I've ever read: from someone who loves to read histories. Bonhoffer is one of the most amazing Christian examples of modern history, the biggest hero of the 20th century even besides being a completely fearless completely humble man of God. It's a must read

Amazing series

I'm well studied in the bible but this series still left me in awe. it's a history on the four writers of the gospels, along with acts revelations, probably first and second Peter. tells the history then ends with the actual book or books penned by John Mark, John, Luke and Matthew

Your God is too small. We like God small. We prefer a God who is safe, domesticated, who thinks like we think, likes what we like, and whom we can manage, predict, and control. A small God is convenient. Practical. Manageable. The truth: God is big. Bigger than big. Bigger than all the words we use to say big. Ironically, many today seem turned off by the concept of an awesome, terrifyingly great God. We assume that a God you would need to fear is guilty of some kind of fault. For us, thinking of God as so infinitely greater and wiser than we are and who would cause us to tremble in his presence is a leftover relic.

Beautiful and inquisitive sermon on John's gospel

A good book for young and older Christians studying alike. Tozer takes the entire book of John and expounds on it in one long sermon essentially. I'm well read in theology and well studied in the bible, I know it in Greek but he had a few good points I had never heard or thought of. definitely a new name to add to my list of great preachers from his day with the likes of Moody, Chesterton, Spurgeon, Criswell and Lewis

Lewis was a master of philosophy history and theology and he paints an awe-inspiring picture of his struggle with romanticism, what we Christians now would call a God-sized hole in your heart but that feeling to the average person that something is always missing in your life or nothing is ever quite good enough, and his search through every philosophy and ideology known to man to finally find himself in Christ. Every Christian should read and everyone else even more so
