I hate weak main characters
Revisado: 01-17-23
Why oh why does the main character have to be a ditz. I just wish that the entire story line was her talking herself out of what is right in front of her face.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Eden Matthews has been in and out of private schools for the last two years. She can't seem to stop herself from closing them down. Kingsley is her last chance to finish high school. Only Kingsley isn't like the other schools she's been to. The students are different. But, then again, so is she. After meeting Kiran Kendrick, the mysterious boy who seems to be the source of all her problems, she is suddenly in a world that feels more make-believe than reality.

Wishy-washy characters
Revisado: 08-10-21
This one is a DNF for me. I just couldn’t take it anymore. The main character was so dumb, no junior in HS would behave like that. Just silly. When she stole the ticket to go to Romania, I was done. There was no logic to the story line - even with magic but still, who would behave like that? Nobody. Maybe this was written for tweens or something, but I couldn’t do it.

Historia
When children begin to go missing, Detective Connor McLain pursues every lead at his disposal. At least until Michele Easton comes to him with information she should not have. Although she claims the info had come to her in visions, Conner is skeptical. Until the threats begin arriving - then his suspicion is replaced with concern. Somehow Michele calls to every protective instinct he has. Michele had sworn she'd never speak of her dreams again. But her fear for the missing children is compelling.

The characters are still shallow
Revisado: 06-04-21
This is another book that seems to be written by someone other than the person that wrote Mindhunters. It is very disappointing in that the characters are so hung up on their initial impressions, that they are stunted in the rest of the story. The female character is supposedly a therapist, but wow, if I had her for a therapist, I would fire her immediately. She is shallow, hot headed, immature, not logical, and again, doesn't talk like a typical person would talk in todays vernacular. The same can be said by the male character. The author is so hung up on his initial impression that she is an ice princess, that even when he discovers her past and that she comes from simple beginnings, he still is dedicated to this original thought. Give the characters a little credit. The typical person will do things that they don't really want to do (get dressed up to go to a ball) without worrying like a pre-teen school girl that she would rather go with someone else. These are adults, not tweens. I am glad that I didn't use one of my credits for this book. It makes me not want to use any other credits on this author because there is such a difference between writing styles, Who knows what you are going to get. Maybe the one that wrote Mindhunters and also The Pretty girls dancing, (that one was good too) or the one that wrote McClain's law and the other book about the rancher. Sad.
