Better than the first book but Kings of Ash was markedly better than Kings of Heaven. Voice actor however was phenomenal as per the entire series.

Historia
Ashok Vadal was once a member of the highest caste in all of Lok. As a Protector, he devoted his life to upholding the Law, rooting out those who still practiced the old ways and delivering justice with his ancestor blade Angruvadal. None was more merciless than he in stamping out the lingering belief in gods and demons among the casteless. His brutality was legendary and celebrated. But soon Ashok learned that his life to that point had been a lie. He himself, senior member of the Protector Order, was casteless. He had been nothing more than an unwitting pawn in a political game.

Absolutely trash voice acting.
Revisado: 08-23-19
Ruined the book for me. The actors changed the entire feel of all the characters I had come to know & cherish, all of which portraying temperaments contrary to their characters as depicted in both the farmer trilogy and the tawny man trilogies.
That and in all honesty this is by far my most un-enjoyed book by Robin Hobb. Perhaps it’s a slow start because I’ve only gotten through about half but the story is incredibly boring and all the hinted at sub plots so far are painfully transparent whilst purporting to carry mystery.

6.8/10 Kept me thoroughly involved throughout
Revisado: 10-06-18
Bloody good book & easier to follow than it's prequel however I think the first book was probably significantly better in terms of world/character building which might have been a solid 8.5/10

Historia
They say that the Thorn of Camorr can beat anyone in a fight. They say he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. They say he's part man, part myth, and mostly street-corner rumor. And they are wrong on every count. Only averagely tall, slender, and god-awful with a sword, Locke Lamora is the fabled Thorn, and the greatest weapons at his disposal are his wit and cunning. He steals from the rich - they're the only ones worth stealing from - but the poor can go steal for themselves.

The second audiobook in the rich, compelling and laugh-out-loud Spellslinger series. A Shadowblack plague is taking hold.... It's a few months since Kellen left his people behind. Now 16, Kellen and Reichis have developed something of a reputation for being able to kill unruly mages. So it's no surprise when a wealthy but desperate father asks for their help in hunting down the men who've blackmailed him by putting a deadly curse on his only daughter.

Loving this series
Revisado: 06-16-18
Didn't think I'd be capable of enjoying a YA novel but after listening to the broken empire series I really fell in love with the voice actor Joe Jameson so by proxy I came across this series by Sebastian de Castell and I can't wait to get not only into the next book charmcaster but also for the following books in the series to come out on audible because I absolutely love Joe Jameson's renditions of the characters and to me they are the "real characters of the story". Id recommend this to anyone into the fantasy genre
