So I love these books. Alanson and Bray are great together. But I need to point out something that really bugs me. It sounds like Bray often reads the word phenomena when it should be phenomenon. The latter is singular. The former is plural. Hopefully Alanson or his editors will read this...

Keep em coming. I love Firefly above most other stories out there. although short, always a great pleasure. I'll continue to enjoy these as long as they are written.

As a pop song, pretty good

But having read many Scalzi titles before, this fell short overall. The premise, science, and plot was cool but it lacked awesomeness (as Barney would say). Looking forward to the next one.

Best book of the year so far!

So refreshing. I've been reading and listening to tons of books lately and found myself without much to start anew. Then I found this title. JR Mathews, though a new author, has a flare for storytelling. I really wish there was a backlog of additional books I could devour. But alas, I must wait. Keep up the good work and definitely bring back Travis Baldree. Perfect combo!

Cool concept, lacked gusto

I've read most of Clines' titles. The recent bunch have been great. But this one lacked that element that made other stories great. For example, the amount of liquid expelled from the girl is completely unrealistic. I know, I know it's fiction. But come on... and I think I heard "I don't know what that means" about 50 times... I've been waiting for another Clines book for a while but I'll need another try to rate up.

Hard to go wrong with a samsquanch book!

I've read pretty much all Tufo's titles. He's solid. I've never not enjoyed his work and this book is no different. Filled with gore and lots of excitement.

Maberry does it again. Holds up!

I can't say enough good about the Joe Ledger books. Maberry rocks another fabulous story. His ability to weave a story of grueling war and heart felt sadness amazes me each time I experience his work. And Good ol Mr Porter is made to narrate these golden nuggets. I can't get enough. Kudos! Go Hap and Leonard 🙂

Pretty good overall, but not what I expected

I've read all the Hell Diver books and the Tracker series. Loved those stories. This new series has potential but this first book was hard for me to get through. It was more of a war story than about AI and technology. Too much fighting and not enough cool technology. I'll likely try number two, but this is not some of NSS's best work IMO.
