Historia
Jack Reacher hits the pavement and sticks out his thumb. He plans to follow the sun on an epic trip across America, from Maine to California. He doesn’t get far. On a country road deep in the New England woods, he sees a sign to a place he has never been: the town where his father was born. He thinks, What’s one extra day? He takes the detour.

Very disappointed
Revisado: 07-08-19
Scott Brick’s performance in this book was horrible. With few exceptions every character in this book sounded the same, whether it was man or woman. Scott Brick should have been able to come up with an appropriate voice for “tough guy” Jack Reacher. (The fact that he couldn’t made the book painful to finish.) But the performance was only half the problem. The story itself seemed disconnected and I found myself yawning a lot, sometimes having to start a chapter over. Then there is Jack Reacher himself: defender of the underdog who used to put away the bad guys with just the right amount of force and violence. But in this book, Reacher wasn’t satisfied to simply disable his foes and render them helpless. He instead became a cold-blooded killer who seemed to enjoy killing. As much as I wanted this book to finally end, when it did, it did so abruptly, as if the author suddenly realized he was late for lunch.

Historia
Growing up, the three of us were friends. He was the nerd. I was the playboy. She was the beauty. Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits. He lied. I went off to college, and he got the girl. Amber never knew how I felt. They were together for years - before he broke her heart. Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch. When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Trash

If I had known this was just audio-porn, I would never have bought it. My one-star story-rating is because I quit listening halfway through.

Years ago, in the town of Saxon Falls, young Kelsey Willard disappeared and was presumed dead. The tragedy left her family with a fractured life - a mother out to numb the pain, a father losing a battle with his own private demons, and a sister desperate for closure. But now another teenage girl has gone missing. It's ripping open old wounds for the Willards, dragging them back into a painful past, and leaving them unprepared for where it will take them next.

Poor narration
Revisado: 08-06-18
Seldom do I have to start over from the beginning after listening for an hour, but if the narrators can't hold ones attention, the mind starts wandering. Finally, after another three hours, I gave up because it seemed like the story hadn't started yet. I bought this book on a daily deal, only to try out an author and narrators that are new to me.

One of the better Koontz books

Ten per cent story: ninety per cent filler
Revisado: 10-04-17
Having listened to numerous Koontz books, I'm extremely disappointed in this one.
Too many details....not enough story. Boring. With three hours left, I'm marking this one "finished."
Even though Steven Weber did an enthusiastic job narrating, it is not enough to keep my attention. Sorry.
