Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

concussion from the high horse
Revisado: 08-27-23
Alex overpromised which if he was the summa cum laude of politics he is suppose to be he would've known better. Yelling at Henry to come out of the closet, but with one stupid picture of them on an elevator pushing him back in so fast that Henry gets whiplash. Disappointing

Historia
Bound together by shared experience but pulled apart by their changing fortunes, four young friends coming of age in the postindustrial enclave of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, struggle to liberate themselves from the legacies left to them as black men in America. With potent immediacy and bracing candor, this provocative debut follows a decade in the lives of Dub, Rolls, Rye, and Gio as they each grapple with the complexity of their family histories, the newfound power of sex and drugs, and the ferocity of their desires.

Complicit cowardly male
Revisado: 01-23-19
A complicit cowardly protagonist with rapist, bullying, misogynistic, robbing friends, who tries to romanticize and rationalize their bad behaviour by blaming the world and its pressures. The insight into the workings of the male mind here made clear they would rather be an actual weak minded, weak willed loser than being called or perceived as one. Ask not how you will save yourself, but should you.

Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Weak and disappointing ending
Revisado: 02-17-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The work starts strong and promising but falls flat in the end. An affliction, it seems, of most writers. You see the truth about Nick's guilt/innocence (ha) a mile away but hold on as the patient precise web of Amy is...interesting. But this is not sustainable and she is relegated to the banal female and he (Nick) to the uninteresting stereotypical male. By the middle of the second half I had no interest in the characters survival (separately or together) and just wanted it to end.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Ego and patience
Did Gone Girl inspire you to do anything?
