The story is so predictable and so bad.
Love scenes and the sex scenes are just so adolescent and cringe inducing that I had to fast-forward through some of them I mean come on. I love a great sex scene, but these were just terrible.
The reader was awful. Maybe she should be doing teen novels.

Unfortunately, the terrible narration of Nancy.

The actor is fantastic except for the horrible fake southern accents especially Nancy, who sounds like a whiny 100 year-old lady with the worst fake southern accent I’ve ever heard. It’s absolutely intolerable.

Have 26 more hours to go of this somebody please tell me that it stops. It’s absolutely excruciating to listen to that.
Just a really really dumb way of doing this. I may not make it and I certainly won’t buy any more of these books. If this continues if it changes, I may be willing to change my review as I love this series, but listening to a middle-aged woman, write teenagers chatting is just absolutely Unbearable

Not her usual, but maybe her best work

I loved that I didn’t know what was going to happen next. As someone who usually figures it out quickly, I can’t tell you how enjoyable it was to not know what was happening. Just so well done so well written the characters so good as usual. But I don’t know. I think she might’ve missed her calling.
I know it’s not easy to write a good mystery, but she has succeeded here.
Quinn has a gift for time and place. And it serves her well here.

I enjoy this author and wish she wrote more

Good story. Great voice work. did not like this as much as I liked the first book, but it was still very good. Great reader makes a big difference. But the writing in this is good like I said I wish she would write more of these more frequently. That’s my only criticism and that’s really just being greedy.!

The writing was pretty good and I kept waiting for the story to be interesting. Instead, it was just convoluted.

I kept wondering why a certain person was at the scene of the crime. Very early on. It was never explained. The writing was pretty good. It was the story that was at fault. Reader was very good. The ending was just lazy and sloppy.

If I had to hear her say that one more time my head was going to explode “that’s guuuuud” The lack of southern expression and nuance is matched only by the clichéd racism and ridiculous attitudes of many of the characters. This reader is so terrible. I have no idea whether this character is likable or not because the reader is so unlikable. But I also think that the main character is just a bad person and not somebody I would want to know and she’s stupid. I can’t believe I wasted my time on this

If you can’t write the ending to a book don’t bother writing the book. Seriously this was just so poorly constructed in the last hour of the book just so disappointing. It’s really too bad. It could’ve been a good story.

great narration. accent aside. obviously there should have been someone with an Irish accent that does not make any sense. unlike other people the women's voices didn't bother me. I found almost everyone in this book unlikable. especially Cassie.
I don't understand how anyone would not know the guilty party here. I knew from the moment that character appeared that they were guilty. is it just me? I hate that. I hate it when I figure it out right away. The prose is fantastic. The story is Swiss cheese. And the culprit is so incredibly transparent I don't get it. I wish that this was a series that I wanted to continue to listen to I really do. because she's such a good writer. But I don't want to read about these characters that I don't like. sorry.
