Historia
I know Demyen Zakrevsky is wrong for me. But I can't help hoping... What if he's not? After all, he's saved me time and time again. He's made me a mother twice over. But he's also the one who sold me in the first place. The one who got my baby stolen away from me. The one who broke my heart over and over and over. I can't decide if he's a saint or a sinner. I suppose now's the time we'll find out for good. Because the bad guys have my baby, and they want one thing in return: Me. And for my daughter's sake, I'll give myself up every. single. time. So I take one final step into the shadows.

Great performance but inconsistent story line at times.
Revisado: 02-01-25
Enjoyed the story but from book to book there were minor plot holes or ties where the story line fumbled. Most of which it was easy to over look between books. But for the final book. There was a very big story plot that was messed up. Like literally in early chapters the bad guy confronts the fact that there was a rescue and knows who did the rescue and threatens them and literally sends his men to chase them down and even calls them with threats. But then like 10 chapters later the bad guy calls the rescuer and says “I need your help” and proceeds to explain that the person rescued went missing and can he help find them. Uummm… didn’t he literally call and scream “bring them back now or else” and now he suddenly doesn’t know what happened? It’s a pretty massive plot detail to mess up. Where were proofreaders, or editors that they didn’t catch that. It wasn’t the end of inconsistencies either. Liked the story in general, loved the preformance and voice actors job, disappointed in how crappy the storyline was strung together by the author tho. Needs a lot of edits and plot fixes. Beware of this issue if you want to buy the book.

The FMC is obtuse and immature.
Revisado: 01-13-25
The story line was ok. Narration was fabulous. The characters other than the FMC were fine and the only saving Grace this story had. But the FMC was frustrating to read/listen to. The amount of times she would say “you’re not the boss of me” to someone for simple things like being asked to clean up a mess she made or for actively working against her new husband was redundant and annoying. Her character behaved like she was 5 and then she would purposely misunderstand things or be oblivious. Like her husband explains “hey this hurts me or our business” and she was like “you’re not the boss of me, I’m just trying to help this random stranger because I’m bored. Even if it hurts you I don’t understand that.” This Is Basicly how her entire character operated. She was obtuse but it was passed off as naive which was poor writhing on the authors part. Her immaturity and stupidity was the downfall of this book. It made me want to DNF half way through. I did finish it. Painfully tho. And after taking breaks listening because the FMC was so stupid and immature I could only take it in small increments. Save yourself a credit. Get something that isn’t going to piss you off and has some depth to the writing and characters. I promise you this book isn’t that.

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. This book needs way more hype. The story is engrossing and unique. The characters are entertaining and easy to invest in. The twist and turns in the story pull you in and don’t disappoint at all. The narration is amazing and perfect. I can’t wait for the story to continue.

A little dry at parts but good story
Revisado: 10-17-24
I enjoyed the story. There are a few parts that are a little bit dry and feel pointless or drawn out. Those parts don’t have much story progression and feel a little like filler. Really think the narration was good for the female character but this book would have benefited for having a male narrator for the male main characters chapters. The fact the narrator did both parts threw me out of the story for his chapters and made it feel less involved. I probably would have enjoyed the story more had I read it instead of listened for that reason.

Enjoyed the story but hated the side characters
Revisado: 08-27-24
The story was enjoyable. The FMC has some issues, but they weren’t un relatable or not average adult stuff. The side characters I absolutely hated. They were terrible to the FMC, made her far worse than she was and were over dramatic a* holes. MMC was great but also a bit clueless but doing best he could. Story line was good, but could have been better with out the “issue” people. Narration was great.

Narration ruined the story. Returned and read it instead. Much better.
Revisado: 08-09-24
The story is fabulous, I enjoyed it so much better though by opting to read it. The female narrator was horrible, but she didn’t know what accent to make the heroine. At some points she sounds British English, others she sounds French, and at points she sounds like she is Slavic. Then she would speak to other characters at times like she was a foreigner who didn’t know any English and was trying to speak English, in that halting slow and almost mispronounced way a non native English speaker struggles. But the worse for her was her male voice attempts. She made the male main character sound like an old man with a scratch voice, in no way could I picture him a the in shape younger warrior he was written as. The male narrator was even worse. Monotone, no good cadence, no emotion or heart in the narration. In general the story was great, but it should be considered in future by author to recast and re-record this book. I almost think AI could have done a better job and I am avidly against AI voice books because it takes from real voice actors. My advice, opt to read it if you can.You will enjoy it much more. Returned the audiobook because it wasn’t worth it.

Tall. Muscled. Tattooed. Shane King was seriously hot, and seriously not a good guy. He went by the name Ghost with his motorcycle club, and he was now their national vice president. When Shane and his club arrived in town, they began doing favors for my family. I didn’t know why. I didn’t want to know. Favors came with strings attached. I didn’t want strings attaching me to the Red Demons. Shane was a different beast, though. I should steer clear of him, except I couldn’t. He was everywhere, and he always looked like he wanted to tie me up in all sorts of strings.

Meh. Some parts were ok. But not the best story from Tijan. I wish I skipped it. (Possible spoilers in review)
Revisado: 07-28-24
Over all this story lacked the normal depth that Tijan stories have. It was really hard to see any connection between the main characters, so having them jump to an insta love type relationship made everything seem even more surface and superficial in this story. They had a history but it was vague and also not touched on much besides they just knew each other in high-school. Add in there was another insta love relationship of her supposed best friend since childhood and a side character Brandon from the fallen crest world that made the BF become a complete douche and awful character. She became terrible as a friend and was worse than Becky tbh all because of whatever Brandon tells her, it actually made me dislike Brandon who I previously enjoyed as a past character, and hate the BF. With friends like that who needs enemy’s. This story was supposed to marry a bunch of Tijan series together, Bennet mafia, Fallen crest and fallen crest adjacent, canary, Kess. Over all it fell flat. It would have been better if the characters actually had any depth, if it wasn’t insta love trope, and she didn’t try to make them all fit together from other series. ignoring all that some parts were ok and entertaining but plot wise it was meh, character wise it was less than meh, and for Tijan standards it was super disappointing and way below her standard. I felt NO character connection, I didn’t root for the characters, and the story was basic and uninteresting overall. It had no heart. I hope Tijan doesn’t rush future books because this felt way rushed, and surface. Like a story filler instead of a book you want to savor. Narration was great. buy at your own risk.

The most annoying FMC
Revisado: 06-16-24
The story was good in theory. The thing that fell flat was how annoying and infuriating the female main character is. She is an idiot, distrusting and her character would walk off a cliff and die instead of trusting the bridge because the male main characters people built it, even though they saved her and sacrificed to help her people. Her entire way of thinking was infuriatingly immature and not in a good way. I kept listening hoping she would meet a tragic end because I disliked her so much otherwise it would have been a DNF. She is horrible and has no growth as a character. I don’t understand why the author wrote such a terrible FMC. I never not once felt inclined to cheer her or the love story in between the FMC and MMC. I felt bad for the other characters to have to deal with her and I honestly spent most my time wishing she would be taken back with the enemy and meet a terrible end. She ruined what could have been a ok story. If I could give the story 0 stars I would just for her. I hope author writes better characters in future, besides a crappy character the writing style was good and imaginative, and other characters were enjoyable enough.

Good story. Need male narrator duet
Revisado: 03-02-24
Enjoyable story. Female narration was great. I enjoyed it when it was a narration for a female. But the narrator made every guy sound like a male new Yorker hot dog vendor. Not good at all for male voices. It became extremely distracting. And made all the males in story feel and sound like they were 40 year old guys with pot belly. It took away from the story significantly. This would be better with a duet narration. Unless that happens for next book I will stick to reading them. Otherwise I liked the story and will continue the series.

Adore this story
Revisado: 02-12-24
I went in blind so I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Fantastic world building despite not being the full focus. Love the characters. The FMC is witty, smart, strong willed, vulnerable (in a good way) quirky and just all around awesome. The MMC is swoony and real. This book has realism in the way that the characters act, and personality. It added to the story in the best ways.
It’s work the credit. Worth the listen, just a fantastic book that I will definitely have on my reread/listen list.
