Using Brian Hutchinson’s narration was a FATAL JUDGEMENT!!

A decent story that got butchered by the painfully slow and corny performance. That paired with an ending that was so cheesy it was enough to nearly cause my eyes to roll off my face. Save yourself the credit, the time and the audible agony..... and go pick a different title. Trust me.... this wasn’t even worth a single star rating.

Perfect depiction of Invisible Abuse!

Absolutely Brilliant!!! Clever, empowering & oh-so-accurate!!
A must read for any victim/survivor (or the friend/family member of the targeted) .... this book meticulously exposes the inter workings of an intimate relationship with a sadistic, cerebral narcissist.
By far, the best description of that impossible to describe hellacious dynamic that far too many presently endure or have experienced at some point, but lack the words or ability to relay this particular type of internal/psychological torment that’s covertly and intentionally afflicted upon them by an external source .... the same person who claims to be the most concerned for the wellbeing of the one they are actively abusing

The crazy making confusion: an abuser who secretly creates a world of problems for their victims such that they can turn around, change their mask and swoop in to overtly play the hero who saves the day.

Fabulous story of the all too common, isolated reality of an unparalleled type of hidden horror.

Thank you Jewel for your strong and beautiful vulnerability. And thanks to all the brave authors alike who are also sharing their stories......because of your willingness to "break open" i see a world that is waking up to the profound pain and challenge experienced by the many children who were raised as the extensions of their narcissistic parent and/or the unknowing little victims of dysfunctional parental patterns passed from one generation to the next..... A toxic familial lineage from which so many of us have come . Your example also shows how, with the right attitude, this can evolve into one of the most illuminating gifts in life: gaining the sensitive personal strength to open up to all the love and gratitude there is beneath our own human hurt and fear. Bravo!

How similar my life has been (minus the fame.). So many experiences Jewel ruminates about here in this stellar performance seems an uncanny mirror into my own 36 years of childhood confusion, my own divorce and years of compounded hurt capped off by the recent realization that it has all been the path to self-actualization, love, opportunity and personal growth.

Great writing , not so great narration.

Wrong voice to deliver Lisa's profound insight. Not to mention he made several repeated and embarrassing errors. Irregardless of Mr. "Scratch That's" odd influences.... This book is dynamite and very much worth your time!!!
