The segue from one character to the next was confusing. The slang was strange. I think this is a good story line but not with all the different players. Unfortunately I just could not continue to listed to it and will ask Amazon for a credit.

A believable plot.

This is the best book I have listened to in a long time. The main character, Abigail was so well developed. Brooks , to me, is what a policeman should be like. Even the ending was well done.

Too Jumbled

I could not understand most of the dialog. There was a lot of background noise that was probably used to make it sound more realistic. The only thing it did was irritate me. I increased the volume, I changed speakers and nothing made the audio of this book clear. No I do not have a hearing problem. I stopped trying after the first chapter. Maybe Audible should stick to known books and narrators.

Too disturbing and graphic

The plot was very diabolical. The descriptions of what and how the torture was accomplished are very graphic and not to my taste.

I am amazed at the authors ability to create such amazing characters and plots. The strength of the characters was profound. Not what I was expecting but glad I purchased this book.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Unless you enjoy really disgusting events and decriptions. This book is probably the worst I have ever attempted to listen to. I tried but did not finish it. The concept was an interesting one but the theme is not for the faint of heart.

What could Neil Gaiman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He was the voice/voices so he knew how he wanted it portrayed./

Stick with it

Don't forget that this is in the 1800s .iEngland really was the way that they are portrayed in the story. Stick with it and I think you will find it very interesting and quite pleasant.

It could happen

This certainly makes you take notice. When it comes to survival we do go back to animal instincts and the strongest and maybe the most prepared have a better chance . Well written.

The worst book

Tedious, rambling, repetitious and could have been reduced by two thirds. I began fast forwarding and still did not miss anything. I stayed with it only to try to understand what I was missing. The answer..nothing. The end was really not an ending but as if the author got tired and stopped. Do not waste your time or money on the book.
