Historia
For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

Can army veteran find peace working for a wizard?
Revisado: 06-03-23
Really enjoyed this audio book. The narrator was perfect, the story engaging, the characters interesting. The number of characters increased naturally as needed, just as in real life giving it a very open-ended feel. The house is practically a character of its own. Magic has a very light touch. No magical fire fights.

He desperately needs more of Elizabeth’s help, but she ignores all of his requests. Elizabeth, though, has problems of her own.

Historia
The Civil War: A Narrative, Volume 1 begins one of the most remarkable works of history ever fashioned. All the great battles are here, of course, from Bull Run through Shiloh, the Seven Days Battles, and Antietam, but so are the smaller ones: Ball's Bluff, Fort Donelson, Pea Ridge, Island Ten, New Orleans, and Monitor versus Merrimac.

Long but worth the time
Revisado: 10-01-21
Clearly written in plain English and well spoken by the incomparable Gardner. Enhanced by interesting but brief character studies. I expected the business of war to be boring but the influence of weather, human error, character, and the landscape created a very three-dimensional view of a mostly non professional officer corps. Everything I thought I knew about the Civil War was pure Hollywood. Don't be put off by the size or the fact this is the first of three volumes. It is well worth it.

An eye for an eye. Things are looking pretty bleak for Hank the Cowdog. First he gets sick on poisoned bacon grease. Then he accidentally trips Sally May - and she ends up with a broken ankle. And if that's not bad enough, he gets stuck playing dress-up with Amy and Ashley, Little Alfred's cousins. But when Tuerto the Killer Stud Horse breaks free and charges at the girls, Hank knows it's up to him to protect them. He'll show that one-eyed horse who's boss - even if it means risking his own life!

Historia
In this definitive biography, renowned Bible scholar, Anglican bishop, and best-selling author N. T. Wright offers a radical look at the apostle Paul, illuminating the humanity and remarkable achievements of this intellectual who invented Christian theology - transforming a faith and changing the world. For centuries, Paul, the apostle who "saw the light on the Road to Damascus" and made a miraculous conversion from zealous Pharisee persecutor to devoted follower of Christ, has been one of the church's most widely cited saints.

Possibly the most important book I ever read.
Revisado: 09-12-20
As Christians with 2000 years of scholarship at our disposal, I had wondered if we were looking through back through the right pair of glasses. Paul's life should not be divorced from the Roman and pagan worlds Paul worked in. The book reflects an immense amount of scholarship by the author but he doesn't drag us down by showing off with big words. Very well organized. Answered all my questions. Excellent narrator. I've been a baby Seeker for far too long. Now I KNOW what I believe and why I believe.
