Another Great Harper-Ronconi Hit!

What other book might you compare My Bluegrass Baby to and why?

I'd compare it to "And One Last Thing" also written by Molly Harper and narrated by Amanda Ronconi. Both books feature Harper's expert wit and Ronconi's ability to bring the characters to life. Both stories feature a strong female lead with a romantic struggle. If you haven't listened to "And One Last Thing", I highly recommend it!

A fun twist on the vampire trend.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, probably. The story is fun and different than the usual vampire fiction.

Did Nancy Wu do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The voices were fine - differentiating wasn't difficult, but I did find there were a lot more extraneous noises (page turning, heavy breathing, etc) than are typical in most audiobook recordings.

Would you try another book from E. L. James and/or Becca Battoe?

I ended up downloading the other two books in the series, so yes.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I personally didn't have the issues with the narrator that other listeners did, though I understand where they're coming from. The e-mail sections are quite trying at points since each time the "to, from, subject, time" are read, and there can be quite a string of emails in a row.

Was Fifty Shades of Grey worth the listening time?

I'd say yes ... though, this is probably my least favourite of the trilogy.

Remember, Audible now offers the return feature, so if you've been debating the download - just do it. You can always exchange it, and you might like it - everyone has to judge for themselves.

Having read the reviews for this audiobook, I was hesitant to download it at first with all the negative feedback. After hearing about the books from a number of people, I bit the bullet and downloaded "Fifty Shades Of Grey". I can totally see where the other listeners are coming from ... I too think it might be a good idea for the author to consult a thesaurus in the future. That said, I did get hooked, and I have downloaded the rest of the trilogy.

My thoughts: if you're expecting a great classic novel, you will be disappointed. If you're looking for entertainment or a guilty pleasure, I say give it a try.

Where does And One Last Thing rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Molly Harper is one of my favourite authors right now, so this is near the top of my list.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Excellent, as always ... she's perfectly suited to Molly Harper's writing.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Amanda Ronconi is the perfect person to bring Molly Harper's stories to life. She really captures the wit and humor in writing.

Absolutely Hilarious!

I love Tina Fey and was really looking forward to listening to her book - I was NOT disappointed! "Bossypants" is smart, entertaining, and absolutely hilarious! That fact that Tina Fey narrates the book only adds to the effect! Loved it!
