Historia
As interior designer Jay Burns watches her long-term relationship slowly unravel, she runs into - literally - landscape designer Drew Montgomery. As their paths cross, both professionally and personally, a friendship develops, one they each try to maintain despite the obvious attraction between them. But still, Jay is not willing to throw away an eight-year relationship, even when it becomes painfully obvious the end is near.

Gerry Hill is a great writer, but...
Revisado: 06-15-21
I thought this story started well and moved along reasonably well but the characters were a little too two-dimensional for me. Our protagonist was meek and obedient for years while our "bad guy" character was never really filled out. The ending seemed satisfying but a little too abrupt - an epilogue would have been nice.

Lots of problems, disappointing and boring
Revisado: 03-11-21
Problems in this book include lots of intrusive "advice" from various side characters that just feels annoying, the weird way the book seems to accuse the woman who broke up with the cheater of abandonment and of somehow being against the kid, the trans character who seems to be a pointless add on who adds zero of any interest to the story, and the fact that hardly anything ever really happens because we are mired in so much dull repetition.
Seriously, the only thing I liked about it is the description of the food the father cooked. It's too bad, because the premise had promise. I like the idea of reunions and second chances, I love lesbian love stories, etc. - but this was just bad.

Historia
Sometimes, you get a second chance at love. Sometimes, you hook up with your ex and remember why you broke up in the first place. Amanda Russo knows better than to give her failed marriage another try, but the brief fling reminds her there’s more to life than work and parenting. When the architect she hires to remodel her bakery turns out to be as charming as she is talented, Amanda finds herself ready to take a chance on new love. The only problem? Her ex-wife didn’t get the memo. For Quinn Sullivan, the sting of divorce is still fresh.

Too formulaic.
Revisado: 10-23-20
You've read this one before, probably several times. I found the kids annoying, to the point where I started skipping ahead, and the adult protagonists didn't seem very mature to me. At least, I expect women who are old enough to have children that age to be more confident.

Trina Lee would sell her own mother’s house out from under her if it meant securing a sale, no joke. Her reputation as a ruthless deal closer and her record sales year in Boston’s luxury property market should’ve landed her Realtor of the Year, so when the award goes to new girl rival Kendall Yates, Trina is left speechless. And, okay, turned on.

The characters aren't very likeable and I hate any story that has women rooting for other women to have a double mastectomy.

This one hits all the notes
Revisado: 07-07-20
I love strong lesbian characters, I love sexy romance and I love well written imaginative stories that make me think. Praise for Noyes for gifting us all with a book that hits all of these notes, and praise for Abby Craden for voicing it so perfectly. This one was so good I listened to it twice in a row because I didn't want it to end, and the ending was just what I needed. A true original!

Overall good, with flaws
Revisado: 04-07-20
It drags a bit here and there. We don't really need to hear the mundane details of what people did in their day. I think at times this story is hot and interesting and others rather dull. I wish the authors of these books would understand that lesbians don't gushingly support every single queer trend out there - in this case, drag queen reading hour at the children's library. Very strange to stick that in a lesbian romance and something that concerns me quite deeply in real life.

Whole lotta angst for no sex
Revisado: 02-20-20
This book includes a ridiculous amount of phone calls and yearning, but very little action. There's not even much soccer description. It's otherwise well written - it just frustrates because it goes nowhere.

Pretty good, if kind of cringe inducing
Revisado: 01-28-20
Lots of dom/sub sex in this that starts with prostitution, so it made me cringe more than once, yet the story moves along and ends strong.

Historia
Can a young war correspondent find herself and follow her heart? In this work of historical fiction, 20-something Annabella “Annie” March arrives in France in 1944 intending to write about the war. Soon, however, Annie begins to distance herself from her sometimes-mentor, sometimes-rival - the great Martha Gellhorn - and Gellhorn’s larger-than-life husband, the novelist Ernest Hemingway. She turns to photography in the hopes of making her own name and, to her delight, discovers that images come more easily than words.

Historia
Things are going great for Sutton Kay, or at least they were. Her yoga studio is doing well, she's living with her best friend, and she just got two kittens named Mocha and Cappuccino. Sure, she doesn't have a girlfriend, but her life is full and busy. Then her building is sold, and the new landlord turns out to be the woman putting in a gym downstairs who doesn't seem to understand the concepts "courtesy" and "don't be rude to your tenants".

Annoying
Revisado: 12-26-19
The story line could have been hot, but the author seems to be aggressively pushing some sort of they/them agenda. Easily half the book is spent on the Z character, who, although often present, gets spoken about in the 3rd person so they/them can be used at every possible opportunity. It made the attraction between the two main characters seem almost irrelevant, and that's a shame. Using the singular they/them needs to die; it is confusing and distracting to the reader.
