Historia
As a child, Jory Fleming was wracked by uncontrollable tantrums, had no tolerance for people, and couldn’t manage the outside world. Slightly more than a decade later, he was bound for England, selected to attend one of the world’s premier universities. How to Be Human explores life amid a world constructed for neurotypical brains when yours is not. But the miracle of this book is that instead of dwelling on Jory’s limitations, those who inhabit the neurotypical world will begin to better understand their own.

outstanding
Revisado: 12-08-21
A little hard at first until I got into the rhythm, then brilliant! For someone who lives with diminished emotions he nails it as to how our excessive emotions interefere with our ability to reason .

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Where's Skippy?
Revisado: 07-11-17
I first encountered this story in book 2 and was overjoyed to find a series of 3 books. I love Skippy, he is very entertaining. I was disappointed that he wasn't in book 3.5. The continuing saga is still very good.

Historia
In this must-listen book for anyone striving to succeed, pioneering psychologist Angela Duckworth shows parents, educators, students, and businesspeople - both seasoned and new - that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a focused persistence called "grit". Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her landmark research on grit, MacArthur "genius" Angela Duckworth explains why talent is hardly a guarantor of success.

it took grit.
Revisado: 11-30-16
I like this book and anticipate loving it after listening to it a few more times. At first the narration was difficult to endure. This is only the 5th book I've listened to and it seemed a bit dull compared to others. It took grit to get through the book but by the end I'm looking forward to another listen. It's very informative, well written and contains concepts worthy of incorporating into daily living.
