Historia
Losing the Signal is a riveting story of a company that toppled global giants before succumbing to the ruthlessly competitive forces of Silicon Valley. This is not a conventional tale of modern business failure by fraud and greed. The rise and fall of BlackBerry reveals the dangerous speed at which innovators race along the information superhighway.

Historia
Our modern society has called for us to “smash the patriarchy”, and the church has not done much better. Instead of telling men how they can hone and refine their aggressive traits, the church has told men that they should aspire to be meek servant-leaders, and when a man shows any signs of independence, he is shown the door. Men are supposed to found households, join brotherhoods, and work toward a mission. God made men to be strong and aggressive risk-takers. This is a feature, not a bug. Foster and Tennant remind us that it’s good to be a man.

Excellent call for men to be Godly, Biblical men. My only real reason for pause comes from a handful of crass phrases to dramatize a point.

This takes me back to the Star Wars content of my childhood (prequels kid). It was fun to visit this book and feel like I was going into a different time of Star Wars books. This feels like it's straight from Legends in all the best ways. This reminds me of the Revenge of the Sith audiobook and has numerous lines that clearly pay homage to it.

Historia
Soon after his birthmother contacted him for the first time at the age of thirty-nine, adoptee Gary L. Stewart decided to search for his biological father. His quest would lead him to a horrifying truth and force him to reconsider everything he thought he knew about himself and his world. Written with award-winning author and journalist Susan Mustafa, The Most Dangerous Animal of All tells the story of Stewart’s decade-long hunt. While combing through government records and news reports and tracking down relatives and friends, Stewart turns up a host of clues—including forensic evidence—that conclusively identify his father as the Zodiac Killer, one of the most notorious and elusive serial murderers in history.

This guy may have been but there's no evidence
Revisado: 03-19-22
Let's get the big thing out of the way. The author doesn't offer any real evidence. He does offer a lot of circumstantial evidence. I would not be surprised if Mr. Stewart's father, Earl Van Best Jr, was the killer but I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't either. I genuinely think Mr. Stewart believe's this and I do not think this is an attention plea. From this book, I honestly think he's being serious and feels a great burden to get this off of his chest and explain himself.
Now, even if this Ear Van Best Jr wasn't the killer, he was an evil, wicked man. There's no denying that. My biggest problem is, however, is he never properly proves his base assertion. That is, Earl Van Best Jr is the Zodiac Killer. He certainly fits and could easily have been but sometimes puzzle pieces are just the right size where you can easily force them to fit together even though they aren't a true fit.
Now that is out of the way, let's touch on how this book is written. It's written like a novel. Almost like first person novel of sorts. It's as if you (the reader) and the author were sitting on a porch somewhere and he's telling you what he's telling you a story. It's informal and noveleque in it's style. Chapters are short and make this an easy, if sickening due to subject, binge.
This is Gary Stewart's book. He is the narrator and it's his story. His religious beliefs shine through. He is horrified. He was adopted and it's clear he has a compulsive desire to understand how\why parents (especially the father) could have abandoned him. One wanders if believing his biological father was the Zodiac is his way of coping and understanding how someone could not love or want a child. The reason I say "one wanders" is because Van could have been the killer. All the circumstances line but, as I said, they're just circumstances.
Mr Steward appears to be driven to clean his family's name as well. He wants no blame to be on his biological mother, cousins, or adopted family. He proudly boasts off all of their wonderful qualities while not pulling punches with his biological father. He's desperate to explain why he researched this and to protect his family's reputation. Even when he suggests a coverup by the LA government, be offers a more novel reasoning for. He is reverential towards everyone but his biological father.
SUMMARY
This book is at best, a "maybe". At worse, it's an interesting fictional novel.
I think Earl Van Best Jr, Lawrence Kaye, Gary Poste, & Arthur Leigh Allen are all possible suspects and this book, more than anything else, throws another hat in the ring rather than offering definitive proof.

Revisado: 01-04-22
You ever wanted a Shakespearean feeling Star Wars story? It's not Shakespeare but feels like one on a middle school level. That's NOT an insult. This is the most Star Wars book because it feels like some grand, high piece of writing but at the end of the day, it's a story about space wizards & character names that have 0 subtlety. This is a quality novel for kids and adults. It does what Star Wars should. Take a coming-to-age story about following the light, not the dark, and make it feel fun and epic for any age.
It's not the best book w\ Star Wars on the cover but it is the best Star Wars book. This is the best Star Wars feeling book.

Not terrible but not great
Revisado: 01-04-22
I think my honeymoon phase w\ Claudia Gray's writing is over. The writing feels 'light'. It doesn't carry the derailed prose I expect w\ an adult novel. This is a fun book but I think I'm ready for. It's definitely the weakest of the phase 1 High Republic adult trilogy.
And there are some things in this book that makes me question if the author has read any of the other High Republic novels.

Fun. Idk how else to explain it. It's not great. It's not 'spectacular' or 'amazing' (pun intended) but it's fun. It's a mildly dialed back Jim Butcher.

The company of the Ring is torn asunder. Frodo and Sam continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin - alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go.
