Historia
Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but longstanding enmities dividing the Rhune make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods? The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feel nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind.

Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from without—and bitter rivalries from within. Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer. Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom. But he learns more than just warfare when an arcane power begins to emerge, one he cannot control. While friendships are forged, a destiny unfolds, one that is tied to a past he knows nothing about. For others, though, it is only a matter of time before the truth is revealed, and the danger becomes real.

Historia
Gates of Fire puts you at the side of valiant Spartan warriors in 480 BC for the bloody, climactic battle at Thermopylae. There, a few hundred of Sparta’s finest sacrificed their lives to hold back the invading Persian millions. The time they bought enabled the Greeks to rally - saving, according to ancient historian Herodotus, “Western democracy and freedom from perishing in the cradle.” How did the Spartans accomplish this superhuman feat? This is what the King of Persia hopes to learn from the sole Spartan survivor.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Stellar book and performance!
Revisado: 03-24-18
Would you listen to A Game of Thrones again? Why?
Yes I plan on it. I know there were things that I missed in the frst reading and after I run through all the series, I will go back and do it again.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Game of Thrones?
Many chapters had "cliffhangers" that you couldn't wait until you heard that persons name again.
What about Roy Dotrice’s performance did you like?
Everything the man is amazing! All of those voices and he was able to reproduce the same voice over and over exactly as it had been in the beginning.
Any additional comments?
Book one is a wonderful set up for the characters and families history, which then makes each additional book that much better.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Bruce is a bit long in the tooth
Revisado: 03-24-18
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I don't know if it would have made much of a difference, but would have liked to hear some one other than Bruce narrate the book.
What did you like best about this story?
When he talks about his families role and his feelings for them. Many were colorful characters
What aspect of Bruce Springsteen’s performance would you have changed?
I think Bruces ego needed to be checked in at the narrators microphone.
Do you think Born to Run needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No I don't. Bruce has been an icon whose light is fading. No additional book required.

The song, Come Together, played constantly for a whole day and night on the radio. Suddenly, the newscaster interrupted, and made an announcement that would send chills down my spine. "Listen up people, we are being attacked - not by someone, but by something! Run people, run and hide!" Then he was gone, and we were all on our own.
