Historia
In the small town of Montgomery, Arizona, Kyle Decker's book shop is barely breaking even. When a bank opens in the empty storefront next door, he hopes the new establishment will bring in more foot traffic. Trouble is, nobody has ever heard of the First People's Bank, and the local branch has appeared mysteriously overnight. Their incentives for new customers seem reasonable...at first. But is it a coincidence when Kyle's wife has her identity stolen and his son receives emails that seem to know his private thoughts? Or when the manager of a competing bank dies a gruesome death?

Revisado: 03-05-22
Not the best . The plot and the language were cringe worthy, and this narrator makes it hard to enjoy even the really good books . Why does this author keep choosing this narrator, and why do I keep hoping the narrator gets better or at least does not ruin the story for me ? <sigh>

Historia
Opulent doesn't begin to describe the Arizona getaway where Lowell Thurman, his wife Rachel, and their three young sons have come for one glorious week. Everything at The Reata is perfect - although Rachel is a bit unnerved by the openly lustful gaze of one of the gardeners, something she doesn't mention to Lowell. Nor does he tell her about the frightening sensation he has in the pool of hands clutching at him, trying to pull him under.

God, how much I dislike this narrator. I try to avoid books he reads, but practically, all of little's books are narrated by him . ugh he is awful and you got to work hard to stay in the story with this David stifel as the narrator.

Historia
The festival was intended as a getaway from UCLA for Gary, his girlfriend, Joan, and their friends. But soon after they arrive, Joan vanishes. Calls to her parents’ home yield only dead air. Her school records are gone. And there’s no evidence that Joan, or even her roommate, ever existed. Most disturbing of all is what they do find. Among Joan’s belongings is a prayer written on a small scroll. It’s a safeguard — and a warning — from something called The Outsiders. For Gary and his friends, it’s the only clue.

Good book
Revisado: 09-01-19
Good book. loved the characters . Will Patton is fabulous and i will listen to anything he narrates ! I did not like some of the language used by one of the characters. I think the idea of a racist evil man could have been expressed without constantly having to hear his racist monologue. Cant wait to hear the second book in the series. I hope that ugly element is not highlight in the next book

Glad I finally "read" the book
Revisado: 07-20-19
Awesome book . I recall starting it several years ago and never finishing it because the movie came out I did not like it at all. Jack was just a violent shallow character with no redeeming qualities in the movie . I was not a fan of the two actors and it turned me off from reading the book. This was before I realized that many of Stephen king's books didn't translate well into the screen. The book however had well developed characters and an engrossing story. I think the quiet scenes left out of the movie was exactly what was needed to make it a great movie. I am glad I "read" it . Now on to part 2 Doctor Sleep . I hope it is as good as this one
