Historia
Thelonious "Monk" Ellison's writing career has bottomed out: his latest manuscript has been rejected by seventeen publishers, which stings all the more because his previous novels have been "critically acclaimed." He seethes on the sidelines of the literary establishment as he watches the meteoric success of We's Lives in Da Ghetto, a first novel by a woman who once visited "some relatives in Harlem for a couple of days."

Simultaneously ignorant and pretentious.
Revisado: 02-25-24
The contradiction of the academic author allowing the “ultimate” presentation of racial stereotyping painted through the rest of the story is tiresome.

Historia
Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of Chaos—the Chaos Motorcycle Club, that is. Her father is Chaos' leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start. When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby's thinking about much more than friendship....Tabby is everything Shy's ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can't have.

Need new narrator

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
All Kristen Ashley books are awesome but not narrated like this!!!
What didn’t you like about Angela Starling’s performance?
No distinction between male characters and she yelled each line of male dialogue. I get these are alpha male bikers, but there is no way they speak to each to each other (and everyone else) like that all the time. It kinda made me hate Shy. (I've read this book before and didn't feel that way.) And Tyra is from Ohio, she doesn't have a southern accent. The narration frustrated me so much, that I couldn't finish listening, and I love Kristen Ashley books. This is not a reflection on the story, just the narration.
