Historia
Matt's just an ordinary guy, but when he's beaten, robbed, and left for dead, bleeding out at the bottom of a gully, it all has to change as he grasps frantically at his only chance for survival, coming as it does in the form of a glowing, dangerously pulsing light. With his reality forever altered, Matt must quickly find a suitable place to deploy the Dungeon Core, fighting his way through the hundreds of people between him and safety, because if he doesn't do it soon, a Core Detonation will solve all of his problems for him....permanently.

wonderful.
Revisado: 03-13-25
it's a very nice take on the Core development story type. Our man gets a core through sheer luck and manages to turn it into a boon for himself and his community. The story covers his methods or lack thereof when it comes to overcoming a great number of commonly discussed or expected tropes with less than common methods. it has enough crunch to keep it interesting without the brain going numb from number salad.
I strongly recommend it.
Also, Neal Hellegers is fantastic.

Historia
Born to a Magical Fantasy Princess and a nine-to-five Supervillain in the most superhero riddled city in the world, Perry's never felt...adequate. He's got no talent for magic, and not a scrap of superpowers to his name. When The System boots and unlocks his powers, it forces him to follow in his father's footsteps, but he'd rather take after his mother... Maybe there's a way he can do both...

spot on narration.
Revisado: 12-19-24
Macronomicon cam always be counted on for building a busted character build that someday topples reality with insanely overpowered abilities. this story does not fail to deliver on that streak.
Perry is the oblivious main character who comes into a set of abilities courtesy of his parents disagreement over his proper path in life; causing him to get a strong mix of technology and magic based skills.
in short he awakens his broken abilities and grows into his power while creating a small team of driven and possibly/probably somewhat crazed girls.
the narration is superb, nailing the voices I had already been fostering my my own mind, aside from Solaris (other OP superhero) whom I had pictured a little differently but it still worked.
if you like macro's other novels like wake of the ravager, generic system... a few others I can't remember, or are just a fan of litrpg, and similar system based reads this is very much worthwhile.

Historia
Imagine being the only human left on an Earth occupied by monsters, aliens, and worse. Sounds terrible? Well...it's not so bad when you are an introverted battle junkie like me. Honestly, I was almost starting to appreciate being left behind while everyone else was given the chance to prepare for the mess Earth had gotten itself into. On a side note, it turns out I'm pretty good at hunting monsters. Though dragons and such are a bit out of my league. Just a bit. I survived dozen-something kobolds that wanted me dead, and now it's time to pay back their leader.

semi-unique
Revisado: 08-23-24
liked the story, the MC occasionally lacks depth or initiative and then makes up for it with a spurt of action. good progression and some fun scenes.
downside... I think the author needs an editor that can catch his lapses is tense whether past or present and maybe help with some of the math that isn't math.
upside: it was better than the first book in some of the structure, also we finally learn a little bit more about their brand of system and such.
I'll probably check volume three if it gets released just to see if there is an improvement, that and I like cats.

Magic is fading, and humanity is at the brink of extinction. Sybil lived and breathed the life of a miner, delving deep into monster-infested caverns and perilous shafts, risking her life to unearth Relics of an ancient past for food and shelter. That is until one day, she discovers a Relic that would change her fate from a simple miner to an Ascended—a Relic that connected her to the magic that was once lost.

meh. once again, once more,
Revisado: 03-13-24
ok... story started well enough even with a lack of early character development.
not far into the naration I'm hit with how many times the author uses the same word or word combination to excess.
Once more, instantly, and once again are some repeat offenders.
I like how our MC tends to keep moving but you never really get a feel for the time involved as the it never really reaches a consistent pace. I cannot say how well the end of book one was as I could not pass the halfway mark.
The narrator helped me get as far as I did but the author may wish to invest in a thesaurus and dictionary.
again the story has great potential and I really think the author needs to keep trying and maybe proof their texts and possibly run it through the editing phase a few times as it comes off closer to a first draft than a finished story.
