Disappointing narrator for a timeless tale
Revisado: 07-28-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Fellowship of the Ring to be better than the print version?
No. The narrator ruined the story. He has made it very very hard to follow
What other book might you compare The Fellowship of the Ring to and why?
Harry Potter for its complexly woven plots, amazing character building.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rob Inglis?
Jim Dale. Please.
Any additional comments?
I simply am not able finish this story in audio version. The narrator is horrible. He has made the characters appear lame, dull, uninspiring. At times I cannot tell by his voice if they are joking or are serious; and actually had to re-listen to make full sense of the scene!!! Most of the time they sound like they are complaining or are on the verge of crying. So disappointed. Perhaps after listening Harry potter's audio rendition by Jim Dale I think I am spoilt for good.I am not able to enjoy the story at all. Sigh. All I have been doing is going back and forth tying to make sense of the story!

Historia
A holy man to Hindus, a hero to Muslims, and a criminal to the British, Mohandas K. Gandhi was an inspiring figure of the 20th century, a man whose quest to live in accord with God’s highest truth led him to initiate massive campaigns against racism, violence, and colonialism.

Awesome performance of story of the great man

I wanted to write this review particularly to state that the narration is top class at least for me. I loved Bill Wallace's narration. I agree his pronunciation of the names of Indian leaders/places could have been better, but one must acknowledge that he pours life in the story the great man wanted to tell. Bill tells it with awesome energy which enhances the beauty of the experiments with truth. His voice modulation and the way he captured emotions between the lines was so true to the story that I couldn't help but imagine that Gandhiji himself would have told the story the same way at certain times! Great job!
