Historia
Allie Dawson and her group of friends consider Ruby’s their second home. The bar is where they all go to commiserate over drinks about crappy jobs, wrecked relationships, and life in general. Everyone is family and everyone comes to Ruby’s. Even though her job sucks, Allie’s life appears to be taking an especially good turn when a gorgeous dark-haired stranger comes walking into Ruby’s and sweeps her off her feet. As much as she wants to deny how she feels, the chemistry between them is an 11 on a scale of one to 10.

Emotional Rollercoaster
Revisado: 05-09-24
What an emotional rollercoaster of a story. From beginning to end I was in there - from not knowing who the new girl was until the very end with reconciliation? And the way the narrator delivered on this one! My heart was in my throat for at least half of the story wondering just what would happen next!

Revisado: 02-04-23
Honestly I don’t even have a best way to review. I sincerely love the way that Amber writes. The storytelling consistently makes me feel like I’m there with the characters and can visually see what they’re doing.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 01-24-23
If you aren’t a fan of biographies, then I wouldn’t recommend this to you. I’ve been a fan of Dame Julie Andrews since I was a little girl. For me it all began with The Sound of Music. Getting to hear her speak on what life was like while filming not just that, but other greats- while also figuring out what was best for her home life, was eye-opening. She opened up about so much that has been and continues to be taboo in Hollywood.

Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and I’m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (so is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting it, right? Except, I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesn’t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us. Nothing but good old-fashioned no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (I’m not crying; I’m just peeling an onion.)

If there’s anything worse than being fired from the lousiest restaurant in town, it’s coming home early to find your boyfriend in bed with someone else. Reeling from the humiliation of a double dumping in one day, Georgina takes the next job that comes her way - bartender in a newly opened pub. There’s only one problem: It’s run by the guy she fell in love with years ago. And - make that two problems - he doesn’t remember her. At all. But she has fabulous friends and her signature hot pink fur coat...what more could a girl really need?

So much lead up
Revisado: 03-28-22
Honestly I wanted to love this book so much more than I did! It’s a solid 4 from me because of the narrator in listening to it instead of actually reading it. Georgina is incredibly self-conscious and guarded after getting her heart handed back to her on a platter, and rightfully so…but when she ends up working in the same place that her once long ago school love happens to run said place…what could go wrong? Heck what could go right? Why does she end up working there though? Her former job basically slaps her out, touting her as the reason for a bad review after giving the critic precisely what they were asking for. Imagine getting sacked and then coming home to finding your “true love” banging his PA! Alas, her brother-in-law was who set her up with what was supposed to just be this one time gig, and it turned into her working full time at a pub. How though does someone work within a distance of a boy she once loved and felt shattered by? How does said boy pretend the entire time not to remember who she is? Georgina has constantly been reminded that she doesn’t have as much direction in life from all the times she’s been fired…so she is wildly self-deprecating throughout the entire book. Most of the book, you end up with the nuances of toxic masculinity, toxic relationships, and wanting to all but hate the male characters. However, I did end up loving Lucas, even when he was acting aloof. Maybe you will too.

This is absolutely an audible that is NSFW! I didn’t even think to look that up before listening. The former books all eluded to just how much was involved, but this book actually goes there. I absolutely loved it though. From Aiden and Keatyn trying (and failing) to keep things hidden from friends, to old friends coming back…finding out about some former foes? I guess I’m on to the next book, but now I know not to listen at work. Or at least to get some headphones.

So hooked
Revisado: 12-23-21
I started this entire series back when I was still a book blogger, and I finally came back to it. Devaney is so like her father, but also got so much influence from her mother and it’s so hard listen when all you want to do is hug her. This is fiction, yet I’m so incredibly invested in all of their lives! Jillian did such an amazing job of drawing me in from That Boy through this book, and that’s an absolute feat. Bravo!

Revisado: 08-09-17
Honestly I have had Talking As Fast As I Can sitting on my shelf for half a year with every intent to read it and never did. I am incredibly happy that I ended up downloading it to listen to, and couldn't be happier that Lauren Graham herself narrated. I really don't feel that it could have been done in another way so that, if someone is a Lauren fan, they'd truly understand what it was all about. I can't imagine someone else reading it to me. Getting to know some of the quips and insights was just what this Gilmore Girl needed.
