Like O'Connell, love Rosenblat.
Revisado: 06-08-12
More times than not I select books by my favorite authors. But for me, the narrator makes or break the listening experience. Ms Rosenblat is one of my favorites. Her performance brings all the characters to life. The story line is wonderfully O'Connell - quirky, compassionate, humorous and yet deadly serious. Won't give away the plot. Suffice it to say, an enjoyable listen.

Accident victim Faith Parker has done what her doctors feared she never would: awakened from the coma that held her prisoner for weeks. But she has no memory of the crash that nearly killed her - or the life that led up to it. Nor does she remember journalist Dinah Leighton, the steadfast friend who visited her in the hospital...until she disappeared without a trace.

Good performance
Revisado: 05-27-12
Had forgotten the fun of a Kay Hooper novel. Flights of fancy to enjoy on morning walks. Alyssa Bresnahan's voice is mesmerizing. I have listened to many of her narrations and have yet to be disappointed.
I enjoy Hooper's plots and well drawn characters. The ending is a bit predictable - she has done better. Fun nevertheless.

Another winner
Revisado: 05-27-12
Guidall is the Sheriff. His narrations capture the humor as well as the essence of all the characters. Not Mr Johnson's best plot but I do look forward to the (hopefully) clashing of LoLo and Vic. Nice intro to another flawed yet very human character. Awaiting the next episode. I enjoy these characters and marvel at Guidall's performances.
Definitely worth the listen.

Narrator kills this one
Revisado: 01-15-12
I have read and listened to many Connelly novels, having enjoyed most. However, Mr Cariou's narration of The Drop failed to keep my attention. Could never tell if he was speaking for a character or reading 'filler'. Disappointing listening experience. Wasted a credit on this one.

Tedious
Revisado: 09-26-11
I am battling every second of this book. Have progressed to part 2 where an inkling of what may have transpired is just coming to light. The narrator occasionally confuses which character she is relating but overall gives a good narration. The author's time changes are a bit difficult to follow. This is not a "casual" listening book. Hoping the ending is more satisfying than part 1.

Initial introduction to both author and narrator. Excellent narration captures the essence of the main character, perfectly conveying the humor deftly intertwined with his sense of cold, calculating revenge. I will be back for more of Hill/Keeble. Definitely worth the listening time.

Historia
The call comes at midnight. It looks like a tragic and petty murder - a rising star in San Francisco's legal firmament found shot in a dark alley. But for homicide lieutenant Abe Glitsky, the crime cuts horribly close to home - unknown to anyone, the victim was his daughter. Seething, Glitsky leans hard on his only suspect - a homeless heroin addict found lingering over his daughter's body, with her jewelry in his pocket and a smoking gun in his hand.

Poorly narrated
Revisado: 06-13-10
Purchased this recording as part of a "buy 2, get 1 free" offering. I'm relegating this book to the free category. Would not have wanted to pay for this bungled narration. Robert Lawrence cannot seem to grasp the length of a given sentence. Unable to endure more than a few chapters. Will not listen to any other recording by this narrator.

Revisado: 11-14-09
If it weren't for Simon Prebble(deserving of 5 stars), my rating would have been no stars. How this book came to be listed as "historical thriller" escapes me. Period piece, yes - thriller, no! Highly dysfunctional characters abound. Found myself caring not a wit as to their ultimate ends. Ceased listening following the first section of the download. Absolute waste of time and money.

HEART WRENCHING AND MADDENING
Revisado: 11-06-09
Mr Cullen's account of Columbine is a scathing indictment of the media as well as the ineptness and arrogance of Jeffco law enforcement.
Reliving the tragedy through Don Leslie's excellent narration, brings tears to one's eyes and inflames one sense of justice.
Ten years later, the listener is transported to that terrible April day gaining understanding along the way.
Delving deeply into the antagonists lives clearly conveys the true nature of these two individuals and the irreparable, long lasting harm their acts exacted.
Unfortunately, the horror of that incident has done nothing to mitigate mindless slaughter in this country.

Wow, what an ending. Enjoyed the three narrators. Each reflected a good sense of character(s). Especially the arrogance of the single focus police. This is one of Gardner's better efforts.
