I first read this book over 30 years ago, in Spanish. Since then, whenever asked, I would tell people the House of the spirits is my favorite book. For some reason, I never re-read it again until listening to this audible version. I am thrilled to report that this book stood the test of time and even translated into English is the most wonderful book I have ever read

I loved every second of this memoir as read by Mimi the actress-who is secretly also an incredibly gifted writer. So many fascinating tales of another era. I was transported by her descriptions and accents and now that it’s over I miss it and her terribly. Highly recommend!

I like it, but it kind of follows the same plot of different films and books. Also I didn't really like the narrator. Kind of robot like. I'd recommend just reading the book.
