Good but the ending felt like cop out and left me so disappointed

Like the title says. Great book and I really enjoyed it up until the end where they were all like "psych 99% of your enemies arebactually your allies ND instead of finding a solution building from the story we set up were just gonna be all" lol we deceived you despite supposedly being allies all for what seems like very little. Felt like a lot until it reveled that like all his enemies were allies and then all I cna think is why didn't you just stab the horrible mob boss to begin with if you had that kind of access and didn't need to keep a cover because anyone who would matter would be dead, but no they decide to do a newdlsly com8cated plan. It's one thing when the plan makes some kind of sense even if it's not much but this one just felt so counter to what they had setup. Like you order vanilla ice cream and they give you chocolate truffles instead, not only is it different food but it's even a different flavor, like wtf? I want to like it but that ending kinda ruinsa book I had been reply enjoying and would accept most endings that weren't like "actually we have super dragon balls so the wish you made on the normal ones doesn't matter" that kinda bs. If you set it up you should use it, chekovs gun or whatever, even if you don't use everything you don't do something ao obviously counter to the story up until then. Wanted to like it but yeah that ending kinda ruins it. 4 stars because it was great up until the end, idk why they like changed tracks and decided to write a blah ending when the writing up until then had been amazing

Mostly good. Kinda annoyed at the end, in wuxia novels I expect there to be a hole cheaters but there's a quick pay out. Toward the end there was like two straight hours of peopke being a holes. I get enough of that in real life, a bit of itin the book I expect but I don't want it feel like I'm at freaking work and that was way too long. Almost just dropped the book because it's not worth adding more of that vs to real life, I'd much rather read something that doesn't remind me of being treated like hsot at work for two freaking hours straight that alchemist contest was such bs which was fine but hwy did the author drag it out so long. I read this for the dream fulfillment of being talented and able to tell people off when their being idiots not for a reality check on me being sub par and only able to endure others cheating and crap

Title 8s all I have to say. Good series but in these book there are just so many things I'm disappointed in. Especially sucks because I really liked the other books. Idk what happened in this one but yeah I feel cheated for even buying it

It's good I guess but lots of bits that were off

I'm thinking it must be one of the writers earlier works because his eldritch familiar series didn't have those almost but not quite odd transitions and what not, made sense overall but some stuff I hope he fixes for the next book because it just doesn't quote feel right as a whole book. Like the book I jus listened to had some pages torn out or something, I don't th7bi the narrator did the vest job either, wouldn't say he was really bad but I definitely wouldn't say he was good. That and some weird points where the Mc teacher was very manipulative in a pricky way. He wasn't wrong really but some parts it was kinda feeling like I would almost say he was bullying the other character instead of being an adult/teacher and trying to help hem grow. Honestly he really isn't a good teacher in any way, like even a high school would have to fire him with how bad he is. I feel like that could've been treated better too so it felt more attached to story

Great listen. Mc isn't a pushover like is common in stories like these

I am going to admit the main reason I am writing this is because there's a moment in book 4 or 5 where I'm pissed at another character (if your curious but trying to avoid spoilers let's just say their related to the main character) and I was expecting the Mc to like forgive him or be nice about it or whatever, especially considering they were related even if they didn't really know each other. And he didn't do that, it was brief but when the guy was all like "this was a test hero de deep" the Mc threatened him despite them being close relatives. That was awesome, I am so sick of overly nice mcs, it's good to be nice yes but there's a limit and when someone passes that limit I don't want the Mc to be meek about it, they did something bad enough to cross that line (which can change depending on mc so might not totally be what I would do but their not just being a wuss that forgives everything so being nice unless you cross a certain line I am plenty happy to let the line be wherever basically, as long as they don't just let people treat them horribly and still treat them like good friends, I've vene there if they are really your friends you'd bring it up and they'd stop like mybfriends did, if they don't then they legitimately are people you don't want to know (I alsongovey friends a pass because it was middle school, and they did stop when I made it clear how it made me feel)

Good but gets super repetitive

Seriously sick of the entire thing being the character told their not ready for something either for a bad reason or a good reason that they break and create problems only to be told once again their not ready. Just over and over again, it's fine for a bit but at some point it needs to feel like all that time the main character spends is actually making them ready but that's not there and if anything people start treating him as less ready to know the truth or do stuff. Was great for awhile but omg just move freaking on already. It's like writing the same line 500 times for detention at this point

Mostly good. Sometime the narrator got like weirdly long with their pauses whole reading and omg that got annoying even if it wasn't often. As far as the book goes I really enjoyed the premise, unfortunately some spots feel very out of the blue, like one second their doing thing A and the next paragraph it's talkingike thing B which hadn't been mentioned whatsoever had either just been or is about to be done and I keep rewinding trying to find what I missed and it's nothing so author could work on transitions I guess. Other than that really enjoyed the overall story and the main character was competent and felt realistic enough because of it, hard to relate to characters who aren't complicated because that's just unrealistic so I liked her

Turned to drama and characters are worse than monsters

Title says it all. It starts being filled with drama and the human characters are billions of times worse than the monsters they condemn. I wanted the ant adventure not humans being completely twisted drama. What is up with the tone flip?

Went from satirical to same as any other wuxia novel

Disappointed it turned into just any other wuxia novel when the first book had promise. But now it feels like wuxia through his disciples which is done in tons of stuff so really just normal wuxia

Totally different from the first, Kinda sucks now

First was mostly heartwarming and what you would expect from a book with the title cinnamon bun. This one she's forced into a death contest and they start having a lot of stuff like mentioning entrails on the ground or the dragon constantly wanting to eat people. This became the opposite of heartwarming and it just feels so disappointing since there was something good going that you don't see much with the heartwarming isekai and having it turn into the equivalent of a b rate horror movie (a joke) is just so disappointing
