This is a new take on our favorite Jane Austen book 'Pride and Prejudice' just after the Neatherfield Ball it is found out that the Bennets have won an impressive fortune! So without further delay they leave for London to enjoy the comforts of town and the Season.

I love the way Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship progresses through the story, often times I feel like the author didn't take enough time letting Elizabeth fall in love with Darcy, but not here. The character development is just wonderful and the story was fun and new!

Will be listening to again in future!

And as always, Stevie Zimmerman was a wonderful narrator to this story.

Refreshing

A forced marriage. We've read them all, and yet this book by Joana Starnes gives the same old story a new purpose. I've always enjoyed the idea of Darcy and Elizabeth being married and either one or the other (or both) not excited for the prospect.

We all know they are meant to be together, after all.

In this we find Elizabeth agreeing to marry Darcy to save her family should her father never recover. Darcy is of course happy she has excepted, not entirely knowing her entire reasoning behind it.

Seeing the way Starnes played it out was refreshing, I felt like it was something I'd never read before and I've listened to just about every Pride and Prejudice variation on Audible. Truly a masterpiece.

Magical

Abigail Reynolds once again blows us all away.

Despite being set in a magical England with Sorcery and Witchcraft this story stays true to the heart of Jane Austen's writing. Our beloved characters are the same in basics, but changed just enough to make them fit like a glove into this story.

I liked how the romance was there to support the rest of the story, not the sole focus. There was mystery and drama and scandal! We saw a new side to Anne and Mrs. Bennet which I delighted in.

And as always Elizabeth Klett did a wonderful job in her narration. It was easy and enjoyable to listen too.

Heart Stopping.

Things really don't go in the direction you expect in this book, my heart stopped cold several times from the mere twist in the story. It had been thinking "no, this can't happen that's not how it's supposed to be!" I enjoyed the twists and turns, and the story stayed fresh despite how long it is.

Arthur Rowan has a silky smooth voice, and the way he delivered Darcy's lines were exactly how I imagine he would talk in real life. He breathed life into each character and kept your focus on the story and not on his voice.

All together I was very satisfied with this purchase.

Diffrent. But a good diffrent.

This was a pleasure to listen too overall. The plot worked well with our beloved Pride And Prejudice characters, putting Darcy and Lizzy into a new circumstance never seen before. Along with the romance, there was action, chaos, and adventure. There was even a new man thrown in there to duel for Elizabeth's affections.

The narrator did a good job overall. Making sure not to muddle together words like others I have listened too.

All in all it was a diffrent twist then what is normally seen in Pride And Prejudice variations. Well done.

A great idea for a story! The beginning was my favorite, and I loved seeing Elizabeth slowly relize she fell in love with Darcy. The performace was nice, I enjoyed the voice although it was hard to tell who was talking sometimes because the voices were the same.
