Historia
Before she started hosting dinners for Indiana University's Sociology Department, Robbie never imagined scholarly meetings could be so hostile. It's all due to Professor Charles Stilton, who seems to thrive on heated exchanges with his peers and underlings, and tensions flare one night after he disrespects Robbie's friend, graduate student Lou. So when Robbie and Lou go snowshoeing the next morning and find the contentious academic frozen under ice, police suspect that Lou might have killed him after their public tiff.

narrator sounds too old for 27-year-old protagonist
Revisado: 08-22-24
great little stories nothing too deep only problem is the narrator's voice it's really hard to keep thinking you're listening to the story of a 27 year old woman when the narrator sounds like she's in her 50s or 60s and probably smoked

Historia
When Kate wins an item at her children’s elementary school auction - an all-inclusive trip to SeaView at Sandpiper Bay - she thinks it’s just what her family needs after a decade of career disappointments and a marriage on its last legs. She has no reason to believe that said trip is a Fyre Festival-level fraud and, in fact, the catalyst to her unraveling. But it is. Oh, but it is.

Sure, I heal faster than most, and I've got a sixth sense for brewing tea that can fix just about any problem, but my cafe isn't exactly a hotbed of paranormal activity. At least it wasn't...until some psycho attacked me and woke up the freaky, forbidden magick inside, earning me a one-way ticket to jail. Now, a covert magickal university is offering me a deal: my freedom in exchange for help with the Tarot prophecies - cryptic predictions they believe hold the key to stopping a deadly apocalyptic plot.

this was a fun story to listen to, can't wait to see what direction the series will take
I like the narrators, this for me is a huge determinant on whether I listen more than a few minutes of an audio book

very enjoyable stories
Revisado: 01-21-24
love audio books that entertain without having to take more focus to follow the storyline. I tend to listen when cleaning or exercising so these were perfect & I really enjoyed the alternative spin on such well known stories.

I tried
Revisado: 06-10-22
I couldn't get past the first few chapters, she meets her employer one day and the next he's her over protective boyfriend who doesn't want to her to leave his sight. all I can think is "run girl !" I've known too many people in abusive relationships and some started like this, moving way too fast, and it just felt icky reading it in this book.
