I listened to both seasons in one day. I figured it would suck but it was really good. There was a couple stories that felt like goosebumps but otherwise awesome.

What a ride
Revisado: 04-30-24
Until 20 minutes I didn’t know how this book would end, knowing now I should have seen the signs through out. This is an incredible journey for a young adult who is about to go through high school to an adult just wanting a fun listen. I went into this book blind without seeing the movie and it is top 5 books for me.

Fun crime mystery
Revisado: 08-02-23
Most of the hate for these early books of the series is based on the narrator. I have seen this in many books that I have enjoyed including a song of ice and fire. When I decide to listen to a book that is old ( this is 1990-1991 and the audio book released in 2011) i always check when it was released. The narrator does have breathing in the audio, she reads it to you as if you are being read to by a teacher in school. Now a days it seems people want these over processed books where they cut out every small breath or pause to the point some books you can tell they recorded each sentence and then put them together and so you hear every cut and paste of track. I find those books more annoying than this narrator who gets killed on every review. I completed this book in two days and I enjoyed her way of making every character have new voices and allowing me to follow along without it feeling like I’m being dragged behind a car.
The story is really good, I am from Williamsburg, va so it may be biased but I enjoyed the references to the areas these are in. It had me guessing until the last hour and then I finally figured out who the the killer was. The flow felt natural so I will be listening to the rest of the series. I docked a star due to the chapters being messed up on the app verses reading. It will say chapter 26 when really it’s chapter 14 in the book.

Lord of the rings: the musical
Revisado: 05-23-23
Firstly I want to say I have listened to all of the song of ice and fire and the Harry Potter books so I’m not new to long series. I understand where all these books have gotten idea from this book, one thing they learned from these books is no singing.
I’m not sure I why the author decided to add singing throughout the story. Usually a character will sing and it will be about a story that adds lore to the world he is trying to build but it makes me eye roll and I start day dreaming. Have you ever been with someone who wants to show you their favorite song and you hate it so you Jesuit kinda wait for it to end to be nice… that’s this.
The story is slow going. I understand you want to get us built up the characters we will have to stay with for the rest of the journey because let’s face it there is no hard losses in this story. The characters have a d&d plot armor so strong that I just don’t know what is the purpose. How can you have a major issue and the only person to die (?) is your wizard but really he just comes back more powerful. Cool.
The performance by Rob Inglis was good, he knew where the changes were for the characters and he gave his best for the singing moments. The songs had different tunes and so they had there own individual sounds. He did what he could with the source material.
Over all I don’t really understand why this is loved so much. I get it’s a classic and it has helped form a lot of story and books but it is boring. The movies were better than this. At least the movies didn’t have me day dreaming about other stuff while I listened and then have to rewind to figure out what I just heard.

He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. Fun space adventure
Revisado: 01-22-23
I had a idea going in that they were going to go and find a solution by accident like in war of the worlds. Instead I got a smart fun adventure that I couldn’t put down. The ending was a movie style ending but it wrapped up everything instead of you having to put some guess work into it. The main characters growth as a human was perfect and it was told gradually through the story. I really enjoyed this book a lot.
The performance was outstanding. I don’t know how to explain it without giving away a vital part of the story but its produced very well. I would listen to it again.

The story of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is very difficult to describe. Usually we give some information about the audiobook, but in this case we think that would spoil the listening. We think it's important that you start to listen without knowing what it is about.

The story of ww2 from the eyes of two boys. This story was powerful and dark. The ending left me heart broken and disturbed but the irony of the situation for the parents was nuts. If you get a chance to listen to this classic, do it.

If you think life is a game, wait until you play death! Chris and Steve were quite happy sitting in their rooms playing online games until events in a kabab shop changed everything and reset all of the rules. A deal with the Grim Reaper could give them both a second chance at life if they can play the game of their lives inside some of the games they have only ever seen through a screen, until now. Luckily, they are not alone; friends they had not met, or maybe they had, help the new guys - the Noobs!

Enjoyable
Revisado: 05-31-22
From the start all the way to the end I was hooked and had to know how it would end. Two friends who are very into games and live at home are put into a situation where they need to complete game levels they are put into for something greater than themselves. The story is full of dudes and bros which I honestly have rated books low because of but the reader kept me entertained and I found myself not being annoyed by it. The reader was brilliant in this role and felt like he was having fun with it and in turn made me have fun with it. The characters added along there journey and the quirky jokes and call backs made me laugh. I’m definitely going to check out another book by Simon Carr. Thank you for the enjoyment while at work and on my way home.

What if life as we know it was just a game? What if instead of traditional schools, children learned by participating in a virtual reality simulation, one that allowed them to experience "life" from birth to death - multiple times? What if one player, on his final play, could change the world forever?

Revisado: 01-06-22
This book had some cool idea and made you think. Could the world we live in be a simulation? What happens after all this is over? Most ideas were super cool, though i am probably not going to get the second one this was well worth the time. I really enjoyed the ride.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 08-26-21
First I have never watched the movie and so when people at work told me the movie was awesome I was like well the book must be better. It’s a typical Stephen king book with weird twists and things. The music by the production team isn’t as bad as most say. The story was lack luster and the ending was a horror movie ending. The ride was fun, the story was dragged out and by the end I was ready to be done with it.

Interesting ideas
Revisado: 05-22-21
Even with a small buzz in the background it was still read very nicely and the story was brought to life. I am going back (as a adult now) and listening to all of the books that got me into reading as a kid. This ones twist really upset me as a kid and I remember crying and talking to my mom about it. Definitely a good listen.
