Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

I HATED this format.

Please never do this again. I don’t usually care for these type of “audio specials,” and this reminded me why. The performances are over the top and unnatural. The sound effects are just plain annoying and seem to be time fillers in some spots. The scenes aboard the Blood Fang ship were almost impossible to hear as well as boring and repetitive. Why was Bishop portrayed as bungling the first half of the book? I honestly would have skipped this, but I didn’t want to miss any plot or character developments before the next book. I gritted my teeth all through this listen. Please just stick with RC Bray. Alone. No sound effects. Thank you.

Written like a sub-par action flick from the ‘80s read by a 13-year old who thinks every line is the coolest thing he’s ever experienced in his life. Trudged through a few hours and had to call it quits.

Absolutely love the character of Nert (spelling?) as performed by Mr. Bray, but then he’s great performing all of the characters.

Historia
Sick of the stress, aggravation, and multiple genocides they've had to put up with lately, accidental space hero Cal Carver and his crew set off to start a new life in a distant corner of the galaxy. Six tedious days of warp-speed and board games later, they arrive in a sector filled with new hope, new opportunities, and new adventures. Too broke to take advantage of any of these things, they are forced to accept a series of increasingly demeaning jobs just to make ends meet.

Love Space Team/Hate This Format
Revisado: 11-03-23
Huge fan of Space Team books and absolutely LOVE Phil Thron’s narration. He captures every character perfectly. I was so disappointed when I got to the last book in the series to find the format switched to this dramatized style. The performances are over the top and annoying. Definitely sapped the fun out of listening to the story.

With a serial rapist loose on the streets of Savannah, hotshot detective Ryne Robel needs answers, not the psychobabble head games of forensic profiler Abbie Phillips. Abbie must convince him that head games are exactly what this elusive suspect is all about.

Not enough nightmare
Revisado: 10-21-23
I thought this was going to focus on the crime/police aspect, but it leaned much more heavily into the romance/sex side, so much so that it became detrimental to the overall story with its repetitiveness. The reading performance was good until it came to the female characters. Then it was cliched and over the top vampiness. Couldn’t wait for this to end, and that was just out of sheer curiosity to find out who the rapist was.
