The story is really great. Like most black library books it could use a heavy editing job to cut out repetitive and unnecessary adjectives. The performance by Emma Gregory was exceptional!

This book is a love letter to pop culture from the 80s and early 90s as well as nerd culture. It is essentially an aggregate of sci-fi tropes.

Its not enough that the only talent he shows at Wizard's Hall is an ability to make messes of even the simplest spells. Now, Wizard's Hall is threatened by a cruel sorcerers fearsome beast, and it is up to Henry - er, Thornmallow - to save the day.

The book that got me to love books

This novel made me fall in love with reading in third grade. It's wonderful. The narration done by the author is great too. I'd highly recommend this if you're looking for a fun (admittedly children's) story.
