Historia
The drought - or the Tap-Out, as everyone calls it - has been going on for a while now. Everyone’s lives have become an endless list of don’ts: don’t water the lawn, don’t fill up your pool, don’t take long showers. Until the taps run dry. Suddenly, Alyssa’s quiet suburban street spirals into a warzone of desperation; neighbors and families turned against each other on the hunt for water. And when her parents don’t return and her life - and the life of her brother - is threatened, Alyssa has to make impossible choices if she’s going to survive.

Humanity unveiled
Revisado: 03-18-23
Amazing job at unveiling all aspects of humanity in a microcosm of Southern California. The characters grow on you as they grow on each other throughout their treacherous journey. This kind of apocalyptic setting is too close to home which it what makes it terrifyingly good.

Historia
Lolo Jones' path to becoming a world champion and an Olympian began in childhood with a single mother who worked multiple jobs to support a family of six and a father who was serving time in prison. These early years instilled in Lolo an overcomer's mindset that gave her the strength she needed to rise above an unstable and impoverished background, to earn an economics degree at LSU, and then to establish herself as the best women's hurdler in the world.

Emotional inspiration
Revisado: 08-19-21
This book is the best emotional support and inspiration for the current athlete, coach, or anyone struggling with current or past losses. I laughed, I cried, I am encouraged. I will read this book again and again. Thank you Lolo. I hope you get that gold medal. And if not, know you’ve already made the biggest difference.
