This well written Book raises the most important geopolitical questions of our time. Where are we going? What is wrong and what can be done about it? It is especially poignant in view of current international politics.
It follows upon the tradition of Harm BiBlij's masterpiece "The Power of Place". I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in influencing the future.

A well written and comprehensive review of ancient history

This is a well written and inordinately comprehensive review of ancient history. While global in perspective it has a dominant theme of Western history.
It contains many unexpected details which are well worth pursuing. I strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in pursuing a refreshing recollection of ancient history.

A definitive Biography of the most outstanding American President.

Carl Sandburg has written the most definitive and comprehensive biography of Lincoln. It's richness is augmented by reliance on and quotes from many primary sources.
I learn much from every rereading of this masterpiece of biography.

"The Politics and Personalities of the American Revolution"

This is an outstanding book. It is a refreshing reassertion of the diverse basis for the American revolution. The comprehensive description of the Revolutionary war and the participants is as good as I have ever read.
I strongly recommend it as an antidote to the current political chaos in the United States. We have been through worse before and we will overcome the present dysfunction.

We can always learn more about the Civil War.

Sherman is refreshingly brought to life in this remarkable narrative history. His maturation as a general and a leader is exemplified. The nature of all out war is demonstrated in his March through the South and the role it played in ending the war.
This book should be read by anyone seeking an additional perspective on the horrendous Civil War.
