Stark truth…,
Revisado: 11-20-24
Laid out bare, naked and factually…, this is the best book I have come across yet, gives a good chronology of events, whens and whys, and points out important historical info and facts that play a big role in where the American people…, the world went wrong in their complacency.
There are those who have known for decades, that things were wrong. We’ve had a few presidents ( one assassinated, 1 nearly assassinated, and another even further back,) that TRIED to warn us. We’ve had individuals who have worked for decades in trying to warn us…. But no one wanted to believe that in the all great U.S. of A. would anything like what’s occurred ever happen. “It only happens in other countries”, is what I was always hearing people say. “It could never happen here.” Never mind that they didn’t pay attention, or even question our government in their choices over the many decades this has been growing.
This book sits you down at a comfortable table, amongst a friend sharing the truth they have learned through experience, research, digging in with top people in search of the same questions, and sharing the facts they have all come to together.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain, who has spent time doing a lot of their own research and fact checking, has dug for clues to the whys, and has seen with their own eyes, the truth in front of of their faces…, AND questions ANYTHING in all this that makes absolutely no sense…, WILL FIND VALIDATION in this book. YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ALONE! You are definitely not alone! For those of us who have stood up to these lies from the beginning, even when we were sure WHY it wasn’t right…. But your guts told you there was something terribly wrong!…. This books gives us the support, and more verified/proven information then anything else up until now.
SHARE THIS WITH ANYONE ELSE YOU CAN! It’s so important to get this info out there big time.
Now if we can just people to wake up to the rest of it all as well. If the majority of the world woke up to these truths and more of the others…, PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE SITTING AROUND IN A STUPOR thinking everything is peachy keen!
You’d have people on exhaustive manhunts to end this insanity.
This book is well put together, easy to listen too, and definitely heartfelt and geared towards getting important info out to anyone who understands that things are not what they seem, and people need to wake up to what is being done to them if humanity is to survive.

It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Well done! Just lovely….
Revisado: 10-30-24
I honestly didn’t know what to expect when I started this book. I’ve always loved Diana, and feel strongly about her death. I followed her journey into the royal family, and of course to the end of her time with us. We all shared her joy in bringing her sons into this world, and experienced her love, and happiness in raising them.
After her death, I pretty much backed off the royal family. I felt a lot of anger in how they handled Diana’s death, and I worried for Harry and Wills.
In listening to this audiobook by Harry, it was apparent that Diana’s love and personality did reach into him, and left a huge part of her heart in his soul. He is HER son. More so than Wills. Being so young at her death, I think perhaps it affected him even more deeply than most were aware.
His story through ‘SPARE’, was a welcomed and sincere eye opener, to some things already known, but much unknown.
It’s evident that Harry has done a lot of introspective work in himself, and although very difficult, come to many painful realizations that would have destroyed most. It had not destroyed him…, but made him stronger as a man, and as an individual.
I am a believer that Diana will remain by her boys sides until their days end on this planet…, and I believe she has been Harry’s guiding light through all the turmoil he’s experienced in the royal family drama he’s experienced.
His story is well written, heartfelt, thoughtful, at times painful, but also filled with the joy and love of his own children. He is doing his mother proud with trying to be the best Papa he can be. And if turning away from the toxic, and manipulative chaos of the “royal family” was the best way..,, MORE POWER TO YOU HARRY!
It’s no surprise to any of us who have followed Charles since he was young, to know he is what we all knew him to be…, a spoiled little boy in long pants, playing at being a grown up. Many believed that was why the Queen would not step down and allow him to take the reins of the monarchy. To hear him in “Camillagate”, and then hear him throwing a tantrum because he wants what mommy also had….,, *sigh*…., it just verifies what the world has known for years.
I was honestly shocked that he ended up on the throne, and not Wills. And honestly shocked that the Queen allowed him to marry Camilla after all the damage she wrought that family! But hey, with Diana out of the way… why fight it?! And I think the Queen became too soft at her end. Camilla and Charles ended up being handed exactly what they wanted. Just wrong.
The so called “advisors “ to the Queen, and to Charies seem to be a huge detriment to the monarchy. Their roles seemed to be more about manipulation than doing the job and minding their place. But it sounds like there were/are no consequences for the behavior, and the royals turned their eyes away from these gross manipulations of serious issues. Especially when it came to private family related things.
I for one, do not blame Harry for his choice to move away, both figuratively, and literally, from the royal family in order to have normalcy in his life, and in his children’s lives. It was a smart move. A LOVING move…, he wants a better life for his children.
What is sad…, is that the royals NEVER prepare any family member for the possibility of being “UN royal”, and basically being shunned. Instead they are tossed out without any basics for surviving as a non royal. Granted, what they still get from someone in the family, kind enough to help them, is still more than any of us average joes can imagine. But being raised basically with an unlimited life income…, when you’re used to having millions to live on every year…, going down to hundreds of thousands would be scary.
It sounds as though Megan has helped Harry understand a lot about what it’s like to live in the non Royal world. Although they still live as millionaires compared to us…, they seem to be trying to figure out a medium that works for their situation.
I’m very happy to hear and see Harry as a grown man, standing up for himself in so many ways…, and at the same time dealing with the heartbreak of losing his mother, and in a way, the rest of his family. But at the same time, realizing and understand how special and important it is to love your children, and family closest
to you.
Wishing HARRY and Megan and their little family only the best wishes…., it will get better as time goes on. STAND FIRM in your beliefs! Little Archie recognized “DIANA”…, because I believe she is with you all. And will continue to watch over you!
I thoroughly enjoyed your book, “SPARE!” WELL DONE!

Wow… Ma is human after all… Prt 2
Revisado: 04-26-23
After reading many of the other reviews on this book, I felt compelled to add a part 2 to my comments on Karen Grassle’s, BRIGHT LIGHTS, PRAIRE DUST.
It seems many of those who have seen fit to leave rude comments, and or low rating for this book don’t get it.
While it is your right to do so, and your right to either like or dislike a book…
I also felt that many are being unfair in their assessment.
Most likely they are younger “readers” / listeners for whom LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE the tv show, was a wonderful introduction to Laura Ingall’s Wilder, and her stories.
That’s fine and understandable.
AND as some other readers have stated in their reviews, if you are expecting all Little House with Ma Ingall’s, all the time…, you will be disappointed.
Does she talk about LITTLE HOUSE? YES. Does she talk about her work on set, in episodes, with the other actors? YES. Does she comment on Michael Landon? YES. Is it in depth about LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE, or the actors she worked with? NO!
It is Karen Grassle’s story about her life and career… which just happens to have included a good run on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE. The people who also happened to work along side her, and with whom she had friendships with are mentioned. Mostly because they meant something to her in conjunction with a situation, or memory that pertains to her life and life experiences. Otherwise SHE DOES NOT GO MUCH IN DEPTH ABOUT ANY OF THEM, with a bit of exception for Michael Landon because it pertained to her career, it affected her personally, and made her question what she was going through in her life, and career at that time, and colored how she saw the industry.
The story is about HER. It’s HER story.
The fact that there are the men out there ( and some women) that have commented on her sex life, and other life choices, makes me think they came to this book looking for a different out come.
And for those that listen to this book and judge…, look at your selves first.
For those that have dealt with alcoholism or drug issues, either directly or indirectly, THEY will have a better understanding about promiscuity, and bad decision making that is typical with substance abuse.
For those that are 55+ years old and grew up while this show was being aired every week…, we came from another time. DURING a time when we saw “woman’s lib”, and woman’s rights taking a foothold in our lives. Younger generations won’t get this because it’s been a part of their lives since birth. I was young enough that it was starting to become a part of mine. I watched as it started to spread its wings .
My generation of girls at that time ( 10 to 18) were watching our mothers, some bravely ( others still very shy) take their steps into becoming more independent. ( Remember the song for ENJOLI?… “Cuz I’m a Woman…, W. O. M. A. N.!” Lol. “Come home with the bacon, fry it up in the pan and never let you forget you’re a man!” 🙄🙄🙄🙄). Even then.. women were being “allowed” to work outside the home, to fulfill another part of themselves by feeling productive, by extending themselves into areas of interest, and demanding more from themselves aside from being a W. O. M. A. N., and mother simply because that’s what MEN said they were meant to be.
AND you MEN? What’s your excuse!? Well.. you have no room to talk about ANY woman being “loose”, “slutty”, “sleeping around”, or the like. Men have been guilty of following the wrong head for years. “OH but they are just men, being men. “. Yeah… okay.
You call men any of those things and they wear it like a badge of honor. Women…, it means they are as low as dirt. Huh! But that’s because even today.., women are 2nd rate citizens. Still treated as such, and in many places considered property. “Owned” by a man.
And now we have women who are as bad as the men, nervy enough to call the kettle black. Disgusting.
Karen’s story shared HER experiences through many changes that were going on not only in her life, but in this country ( as well as most of the world) at the time.
People have been ruined by so called “political correctness “ to the point that you cannot say anything with out someone screaming about some sort of racism…, whether it’s truly racist or not.
There is nothing racist in this book.
If you take offense to someone saying, “oh I dated a very handsome African American, or a really gorgeous Asian …, then I guess the book and myself is “racist.” Though that is not the intent.
We were raised in a time when DESCRIPTION was part of our vocabulary, it’s a part of telling information to another. And it was/is during a time when mentioning a skin color was not derogatory in anyway, if done with out malice or hate. Or mentioning so called “race” was not derogatory if it wasn’t in malice or hate. It was the bad words that were frowned upon. But t today, this PC bull had made everything “racist.”
How dare I! I guess I’m “racist” for mentioning it.
In all fairness…, Karen Grassle’s book is HER story, about her experiences, as she remembers it, and understands it. That’s generally what someone’s story looks like. It’s not a matter of whether it’s right or wrong. It is what it is, THEIR STORY.
If you purchased this book with the hopes that it’ll be all about Little House on the Prairie, you will be disappointed. If you purchase this book to read about or listen to Karen Grassle’s story about her experiences throughout her life, and during her career, then you’ve come to the right book.
As with any book, it won’t be for ever one. Fine. But to trash it just because….., Because Ma isn’t talking about Mary, Laura, and Carrie, or gushing about what a handsome, and righteous man Pa is?
If you don’t like Karen’s story. I get it. You don’t like it. Say you didn’t like the narration, didn’t like the content because it wasn’t what was expected, or it just wasn’t up your alley of story telling.
FINE.
But to trash someone’s life. That’s just wrong. The story is about her life. Right or wrong in your eyes.. that’s your opinion. But it is HER story. She lived it.
And thank god she’s become a strong and confident woman, courageous enough to stand before EVERYONE and share the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Revisado: 04-15-23
Okay… FIRST! I love Melissa Gilbert. She’s a cool person. And I will always have a place in my heart for “half-pint”. Secondly…. MELISSA….., I was thoroughly enjoying your story UNTIL you started bringing politics into it. LEAVE POLITICS OUT OF YOUR STORY if you want EVERYONE to enjoy it. It’s the politics and going on about Biden that ruined it for me. I don’t care who it would have been about… OUR GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT… YOU CANNOT TRUST ANY OF THEM! You talk about inclusiveness…., well you won’t get it by sharing politics and generally religion…. Unless people expect it. It feels one sided with the comments about elects. Yes… you have a right to your own thoughts. However, being a highly recognizable “public person “ means that politics and religion is a no no. Unless you don’t care how it affects your popularity. That is your choice. That being said…., my choice is to not continue with this book. Which is disappointing. But I will not support a “celeb” drooling over a political official… no matter who they are. I didn’t spend my money on a book that was considered a autobiography/biography, to listen to specific political persons being talked about. Mention the name once… fine. Any more than that…. I’m outa here. It sounds like you and TB have carved out a lovely life together. I’m sincerely happy for the both of you. And hope it’ll be the last for you both. I’ve read Allison Arngrams book…. WOW! Now that was a entertaining, and fun book. Yours was tooling along fine….., leave the political junk in the dump where it belongs. Better luck with your next journalistic endeavor.

WOW! Is there anything Stephen King CAN’T write well?
Revisado: 11-17-22
Well, I wasn’t sure if this would be any good. I mean, a “Fairy Tale” from the king of Horror? Unless of course it was simply a title, or a ‘Fairy Tale’ that would fail. As a life long Stephen King fan… I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!
Granted, there are going to be die hard Stephen King fans out there that may not like this. But it has all the elements that make for a great story, and adventure! I finished this in 2 days. Could NOT stop listening. I wanted to see where it was going.
The narration WAS GREAT! The person chosen for this read was excellent. I FELT he WAS “The Prince”, and was right where he belonged at that time. The narrator seemed to live the part. He made it real. He draws you into the story with his masterful ability to convey what the character is going through in every way. Personally I thought he was a perfect fit! Not just over acted, or under acted. Stephen King should be proud of the way this narrator sold his fable!
The story was interesting in its way to add several components. The young midwestern teen who’s trying to work through grief, and his personal issues to figure out who he really is, and where he’s going. And through his kindness befriends a crotchety and strange old guy with a big secret. The dynamics of their relationship is so real, that it rang very true, and therefore believable.
Then comes the thing that ties it all together, the dog “Radar” whom plays the important role of not just man’s best friend, but as protector, peacemaker, and lifesaver. “Radar” is the thread that cinches the story together.
But it’s the wonder of the adventure…., the old fashioned idea of a “Fairy Tale”, with a twist of sci-fi fantasy that makes this story unique in and of itself.
Yes, there is some darkness involved, some spells, some nasty and creepy creatures/beings, and some struggles to save a once beautiful kingdom from the scourge of evil. And of course, there is love. Love of a woman, of family, a furry friend, and of a world that is home.
It’s all the little details in between that fleshes out this story, that Stephen King has managed to make it feel somehow familiar, and yet not quite the same.
If you are wanting or expecting blood, guts and gore…, you will find some here. But not in the usual ‘horror’ manner. If you are expecting to be frightened to the point you need the lights on, …FAIRY TALE isn’t scary in that way so much. But it is rich in a fairy tale story about a boy, his dog, and a secret that he just had to explore.
FAIRY TALE is not a typical Stephen King book. If you want blood, guts, gore, and dread swirling in the pit of your stomach, you’ll find a little here…, but it’s the story that is familiar, the fairy tale with the happy ending that makes this a gentler King feature. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
If you enjoy Stephen King, and appreciate his ability to write a entertaining story, give FAIRY TALE a listen/read. It’s a awesome FAIRY TALE.
Follow Charlie and Radar into a nice getaway for your mind. Do what Stephen King did, do something a little different…. Listen/read FAIRY TALE…, and take a little adventure!

I’m Ramit Sethi, author of the New York Times bestseller ‘I Will Teach You To Be Rich.’ I’ve always been fascinated with money and psychology. Why do some of us feel so anxious about money? Why do we feel guilty about spending on the things we love? And how do we handle our finances in a relationship? Most of us have never been taught how to have these conversations so we can get on the same page with our partner. That’s where I come in. Really?
Revisado: 02-15-22
I’m sorry, but I’m not hearing the “teach you to be rich” here. As a person who struggles just to keep my head above water, hearing about people with millions who are squabbling about their money issues…, this is not helpful. It’s more like a smack in the face of those of us that are struggling to find our way out of a background of dysfunction with HOW TO BRING FINANCIAL WEALTH TO OUR LIVES AND HOW TO LEARN TO KEEP IT, and LIVE WITH IT. It’s a completely foreign concept to those of us that have been programmed throughout childhood and young adulthood to believe we have to do things the way our parents did.. even when we see and know it didn’t work for them. HOW DO WE BREAK THOSE CHAINS that hold us back for our true potentials? I’ve yet to find a guru out there that taught teaching someone how to be rich, or earn a high income and how to learn to get past old programming and understanding the hows and whys, that doesn’t want $$$ to do so. Very disappointing. If you are looking for help in pulling yourself out of a deep hole or dig yourself out of all the crap that keeps you there… THIS PODCAST IS NOT FOR YOU.

As a freelance writer, Jack Naile was used to getting an occasional letter from one of his readers, but when one of those readers sent him a clipping from a magazine, it would not only change his life, but could alter the course of history as well. The clipping had a photo, taken in Nevada in 1903, of a street scene, including a story with a sign, "Jack Naile - General Merchandise". The Nevada town's historian sent him a photo of the 19th century Jack Naile, what had seemed like an interesting coincidence immediately became much more bizarre.

AWESOME story… not so great reader
Revisado: 07-07-21
Wow! I have to be honest and say I had a hard time getting into this story because of the narrator. He might be better for another type of read. He reminded me of Judd Nelson in the Breakfast Club when he was telling us about his Christmas morning gift… a carton of cigarettes.. “ Smoke up Johnny!” Very robotic. And unlike Judd’s character who was being angry and sarcastic about his story, this readers robotic read was VERY distracting! HOWEVER, the story… THE STORY was AWESOME. THE AHERNS weaved a wonderful and different time travel tale that carries you away into the story…. THAT is what saved this recording… once you can get past the narration. I’ve listened to this book twice because I enjoyed the STORY so much. They masterfully weaved the old west into 20th century technology and back again. A storyline I often wondered about myself. What would it be like to travel back in time, live that life knowing what I knew about the future. I’d love to see more stories like this one, or a continuation of WRITTEN IN TIME, by the AHERN’s! A very enjoyable and satisfying tale, even with a bad narration. Dont let the narration stop you from this creative story!

The first authoritative biography of film legend Bruce Lee, who made martial arts a global phenomenon, bridged the divide between Eastern and Western cultures, and smashed long-held stereotypes of Asians and Asian Americans. Forty-five years after Bruce Lee’s sudden death at age 32, journalist and best-selling author Matthew Polly has written the definitive account of Lee’s life. It’s also one of the only accounts; incredibly, there has never been an authoritative biography of Lee.

WOW! Wow! Wow! AWESOME book for Bruce Lee fans!
Revisado: 02-28-20
Ok..., I admit I’ve been a huge Bruce Lee fan ever since I first saw ENTER THE DRAGON a few years after his death.
Like many of his fans, and followers, I was immediately drawn to Bruce Lee. I wanted to know more. I was so sad, and disappointed to learn that he had died before the release of ENTER THE DRAGON.
As I’m sure others did, I went looking for anything I could find in Bruce Lee. But back in the late 70s there wasn’t much available accept for articles in Karate, or Black Belt magazines. I devoured them.
I ordered a copy of his widow, Linda Lee’s book, Bruce Lee - The Man Only I Knew (1975). But I still wanted more.
The Bruce Lee Story by Linda Lee (1989), The Warrior Within by John Little ( 1996), Chinese Gung Fu by Bruce Lee ( 1963), Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee (1975), the Bruce Lee Fighting Method series, by Bruce Lee ( 1976)... ANYTHING I could find!
I watched old interviews. His guest spots on television shows, and old audio interviews.
I even starting taking Kenpo lessons. But only because Jeet Kune Do was not available in studios and was not a “style” available for study.
Yes! I was only 1 of millions who fell under the spell of Bruce Lee!
Over the years I have continued to collect whatever I could find. I followed his son, Brandon Lees career, and mourned with the millions who felt his loss, and Bruce’s legacy.
But I felt relief in knowing the his daughter, Shannon was still with us.
Over the years, Shannon and her mother, Linda Lee Cadwell, have continued to protect and grow Bruce’s memories, teachings, and philosophies.
I had heard that this book was being written, and looked forward to, and HOPED that for once..., this particular book would offer new insights into the world of Bruce Lee. Not just the movie star, the martial artist, but the family man, and the private side we never really heard anything about.
But I think like most followers, I still had the biggest questions on my mind. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THE DAY BRUCE LEE DIED. And WHY he died.
There has always been a lot of conjecture in reference to his death.
I have to say, BRUCE LEE by Matthew Polly did not disappoint!!
Well written, fact and fun filled with information I had not heard before, ( or only item lightly touched on by other writers) stories of not just Bruce Lee the movie star, the martial artist, philosopher, but Bruce Lee at his most true self. The man, husband, father, friend, and lover.
Again, I will say I was not disappointed. BRUCE LEE by Matthew Polly has got to be one of the very best books available on the authentic Bruce Lee, and his story.
And YES! I FINALLY got my answers to my 40+ year old questions about Lees death.
And finally it makes sense.
It was also refreshing to actually “see” Bruce Lee depicted as a real human being. With faults, feelings, and flaws like everyone else.
To hear about his struggles, his successes, his failures, and his fears.
I cannot say enough positive things about Matthew Polly’s book. I can however say that I felt personally, that it’s the best BRUCE LEE book I’ve yet to read about BRUCE LEE.
If you love Bruce Lee, or have a interested in him as a martial artist, or philosopher , have been a fan of Brandon and Shannon’s work...., do yourself a favor and listen to BRUCE LEE by Matthew Polly.

Historia
Prosecuting attorney in the Manson trial Vincent Bugliosi held a unique insider's position in one of the most baffling and horrifying cases of the 20th century: the cold-blooded Tate-LaBianca murders carried out by Charles Manson and four of his followers. What motivated Manson in his seemingly mindless selection of victims, and what was his hold over the young women who obeyed his orders? Now available for the first time in unabridged audio, the gripping story of this famous and haunting crime is brought to life by acclaimed narrator Scott Brick.

Dry...
Revisado: 02-28-20
Although I was young when this true occurrence took place, I grew up hearing bits and pieces about the murders over the years.
I thought it would be good to actually hear the full story, with all the information. However I could not get past the narration, or how the story was written.
It seemed, for lack of a better word, lackluster, to me.
I could not get into the story. It just didn’t grab my attention. It seemed dry. And the narration, tired.
I didn’t get past part 1 of the 3 downloads for this title.
Not too sure if it was just the narration, the way the story was written, or a combination of the two.
If you can get through it, I’m sure the information is good. The story, very interesting.
But it was just, lacking too much to hold my attention.
