A Vindication of the Doctrine That the Sacrifice of the Mass Is Idolatry

Historia
Scottish reformer John Knox taught that Mass was an idolatrous practice. In 1550, the Roman Catholic church brought a charge against him for this controversial position. He defended this belief in front of the council of the North, stating, “I do affirm the Mass to be, and at all times to have been, idolatry and abomination before God.” His thorough, scriptural argument was so convincing that he was allowed to continue his preaching unhindered.

Knox's work herein was fantastic and thoroughly backed up with Scripture. After listening to this I am much very much appreciative of this work and thus felt inclined to leave a good review of this.

Since the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, sola fide has been the defining doctrine of evangelical Christianity - and the way a person is justified the defining difference between Roman Catholics and evangelicals. In this audio, R. C. Sproul examines what justification is according to God's Word, compares the Roman Catholic and evangelical stances on this core doctrine, and discusses the relationship of faith and works - all to show why "by faith alone" is so essential.

Historia
Confusion reigns among evangelicals these days on the subject of same-sex attraction and gay identity. What do you say to a pastor applying for a job at your church who says, “I have (present tense) sexual, romantic, and deep emotional attractions to people of the same sex (or some other category of person or thing).” Specificity, clarity, and minimal nuance is recommended in these discussions which tend to gravitate towards too much contradiction and obfuscations and the use of worldly terminologies. Would celibacy or a fundamental change of mind (repentance) be preferred for the one who...

Weak heroes that are nothing more than fodder.
Revisado: 10-07-22
Didn't care for it. Story got worse as it continued, heroes were made to sound capable but they might as well have been a recruiter dirt farmer. Some of the factions quarrels didn't make sense in light of what they faced.

Historia
During the Depression, economic anxieties found an outlet in a series of child murders that triggered an irrational nationwide hysteria: pedophiliac psychopaths were overrunning the country. As America was brought to rage and fury by the press and the FBI, lynch mobs took to the streets, reason gave way to doomsday scenarios, and one father was even driven to murder his three daughters to “save them” from a degenerate crime wave. A terrifying cautionary essay, Panic explores the combustible mix of unfounded fears, moral crusades, and the dangers of collective thinking.

Another good book by this author with a minor unnecessary distraction about music and race. Also near the end it seemed the author discounts the assaults and murders of children in comparison to WWII.

Historia
A match at bowls was being played in which Drake and other high officers of the fleet were engaged, when a small armed vessel was seen running before the wind into Plymouth Harbor, with all sails set. Her commander landed in haste, and eagerly sought the place where the English lord admiral and his captains were standing. He was master of a Scottish privateer, and he told the English officers that he had that morning seen the Spanish Armada off the Cornish coast.
