Historia
Emotions are a gift from God—yes, even the "bad" ones. Anxiety can keep us up at night. Anger can cause us to fly off the handle. Sadness can drain us of energy. Shame can isolate us. Emotions like these are powerful. They can tax our relationships and distress our souls. No amount of sheer willpower or good intentions are sufficient to overcome them. But God has a good purpose for these core emotions he created. By integrating biblical truth, evidence-based insights from psychology, and spiritual practices, we can move from being mastered by these emotions to living in emotional maturity.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

Authentic
Revisado: 08-03-24
Authentic and genuine understanding of aspects of Appalachian and working class culture in American society. I personally grew up in rural eastern Kentucky and found the book to resonate deeply and appreciate the authors efforts to tell his story and communicate an important message for our society.
