Historia
Spacers call the warp point Charon's Ferry. No star ship has ever entered it and returned since a vengeful Orion task force pursued a doomed Terran colonization fleet into it in 2206. Almost a century has passed. The fiery hatreds of a quarter-century of warfare between the Terran Federation and the Zheeerlikou'valkhannaieeee, the cat-like species humans called the "Orions", have eased at least a little.

I wanted distraction but I got one sided political garbage. I strongly support freedom of speech but I also don’t have to pay for it. Thought I would give Webber another try but it’s only worse. Another guy who promotes hating as a solution.

Historia
Humanity, in its struggle to escape its own planet's demise, began sending colony ships from Earth almost 700 years ago in the desperate hope a handful would find someplace habitable for human life and be able to continue our species. Only one ship survived. It survived only because it found a vast swath of alien planets, all terraformed, all utterly abandoned. Alien megastructures cold and lifeless.

Disappointed & frustrated.
Revisado: 07-23-21
The bones of the story are all there for a great adventure. BUT the characters did so many completely idiotic choices as to be inane! Worst of all were the women who went from shrill to stupid to shallow.
I had to check and see if the author was some misogynistic man. Characters with so many abilities & experiences wouldn’t act so insipidly.

Historia
On Detron, a simmering protest boils over and turns deadly when militants hiding among the demonstrators deliberately shoot down a group of legionnaires, executing one survivor and taking two for ransom. The only Republic asset the captured leejes can rely on is a lone marine sniper who defies orders in a desperate attempt to save them. But a troubled sea of hostile riots, looting, and murder is too much for anyone to navigate safely.

Not my favorite but it could have been.

Great characters & story line. Kept a good pace. But! To much time spent on inserting a political message. I don’t mind an author subtly inserting his philosophies. In fact it’s an opportunity to think about things when done well. But for the first time the stories I love because they take me away from all of today’s politics kept hammering them back at me.
Please don’t mistake my issue being with the author’s opinions. I object to spending to much story time on them. It’s how Tom Clancy lost me as a fan.

Historia
A desperate Kremlin takes advantage of a military crisis in Asia to simultaneously strike into Western Europe and invade east Africa in a bid to occupy three rare Earth mineral mines that will give Russia unprecedented control over the world's hi-tech sector for generations to come. For anyone who missed the old Tom Clancy but better. Honest, real, and well written characters. Also without getting political views crammed down your throat. Mark please stay that way. Excited to see what else you’ve written.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Historia
Is real friendship too risky? We live in a world where real friendship is hard to find. Suspicious of others and insecure about ourselves, we retreat into the safety of our small, self-made digital worlds. Tragically, even the church can become a place that reinforces this isolation. Jesus models a much richer vision of friendship. Scott Sauls, pastor and teacher, invites you to see the breadth of Christ's love in this audiobook, Befriend.

Can't get enough
Revisado: 11-13-15
It keeps getting better as a story and feels less like a primer for a religion. The narrator does a great job with voices and all. But pronunciation of some words makes me nuts. Please tell him that "chete" is NOT pronounced sheet. It is shetee, like Machete!
