Historia
Revelation is a lens that puts the entire Bible into focus. The lens is focused on the person of Jesus Christ, and his destiny is imminent. This is a book of victory: We are overcomers! We are the ultimate winners in the game of life! (I read the ending: We win!) One of the reasons this book strikes us as strange is because of our lack of understanding concerning the Old Testament. The Book of Revelation consists of 404 verses that contain over 800 allusions to the Old Testament. These are detailed, along with Chuck's analysis of the design and structure of this fascinating book.

Amazing, insightful, best study on Revelation out there
Revisado: 01-18-24
Revelation has previously always been a scary and confusing, foggy book. Going through this study was fascinating, extremely enlightening, and truly amazing. Chuck Missler had to be one of the most gifted Bible teachers there has been. He uses the Bible itself to explain other parts of the Bible, and in spite of having grown up in the church, I learned thousands of new things from this study that I never knew before. Revelation makes so much more sense to me now, and this gave me so much more understanding. And it also shed light on which parts are still a mystery; some things we just won’t know exactly what they look like until they happen. But this was absolutely incredible and life-changing. I will definitely listen to it again and share it with others.

Historia
Sarah Thebarge, a Yale-trained physician assistant, nearly died of breast cancer at age 27, but that did not end her deeply felt spiritual calling to medical missions in Africa. Risking her own health, she moved to Togo, West Africa - ranked by the United Nations as the least happy country in the world - to care for sick and suffering patients. Serving without pay in a mission hospital, she pondered the intersection of faith and medicine in her quest to help make the world "well".

Beautifully written, quick and fascinating read
Revisado: 02-17-18
“Well” is a beautiful, albeit at times heavy, story of the author’s 3 month trip volunteering at a hospital in Togo. The gritty, heart-wrenching stories of her experiences among the Togolese people are, at the same time, interwoven with hope and wisdom. The author’s compassion and genuineness are evident and inspiring. The experiences she had in Togo are such a different world than I’ve ever experienced, even having been to developing countries. The author wears her heart on her sleeve in the pages of this beautiful book, and lets the reader vicariously live a completely different experience than most of us are used to. She also reads the book herself on Audible and does a fabulous job— it is SO much better when the authors themselves read their own nonfiction audiobooks! You can feel the emotions and hear it all exactly as she tells it, in her own voice. This adventure is totally worth the listen!

Historia
Thousands of people have had near-death experiences, but scientists have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those scientists. Neurosurgeon Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress. Then, Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by a rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion shut down completely. For seven days he lay in a coma. Then Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back. Alexander’s recovery is a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere.

Excellent and moving
Revisado: 08-07-15
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. Incredibly moving, very thought-provoking, and an awesome listen. Very well produced audiobook! I love it when the author reads their own writing, and Mr. Alexander conveys his story with genuineness and joyful energy.

A New York Times best seller, Scary Close is Donald Miller at his best. From the author of Blue Like Jazz comes a story about finding the keys to a healthy relationship and discovering they are also the keys to a healthy family, a healthy career, and a healthy mind. And it all feels like a conversation with the best kind of friend: smart, funny, true, important.

Great!
Revisado: 05-20-15
Great book. Easy listen. Thought-provoking and pleasant to listen to. I highly recommend it. My only gripe is that I prefer it when the author reads their own nonfiction book/memoir; it's much more authentic than a random audiobook reader.

I want to listen to it again!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I'd highly recommend this audiobook/book to friends & family. In fact, I already have two people in mind that I'm going to gift this book to.
What does Shauna Niequist bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
As I've gotten into the world of audiobooks, for non-fiction/personal books in particular, I've found it makes ALL the difference in the world to have the author read her/his own book. I love hearing Shauna's voice tell her own stories. Other books have been ruined for me when it's someone else's voice telling the author's story-- it is clearly ungenuine-sounding in most of those cases. Not so with Shauna telling her own stories... so good!! So real!!
Any additional comments?
I loved this book from start to finish, and was captivated by her stories. Her stories are meaningful, deep, very relatable (even her stories about her marriage, although I'm not married-- I could understand because of the way she tells it). Not only that, but the book is inspiring in a way that makes you (me) want to jump back on some trains in life and faith that I've fallen off of. I plan to listen a second time through sometime, because there are so many nuggets of wisdom scattered throughout.

Historia
From Lauren Graham, the beloved star of Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, comes a witty, charming, and hilariously relatable debut novel about a struggling young actress trying to get ahead - and keep it together - in New York City. It’s January 1995, and Franny Banks has just six months left of the three-year deadline she set for herself when she came to New York, dreaming of Broadway and doing "important" work. But all she has to show for her efforts so far is a part in an ad for ugly Christmas sweaters, and a gig waiting tables at a comedy club....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book and already have given it away as a gift. I plan to give it out more! It's heartwarming, smart & funny all at once.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed AND teared up at various parts of the book. Graham does an awesome voice-over, and has written lovable characters, realistic situations and fun, engaging dialogue.
